I will walk about in freedom, for I have sought out your precepts.

I will lead a full and happy life, because I’ve tried to obey your rules.

and I shall walk in a wide place, for I have sought your precepts.

I will walk freely in an open place because I study your precepts.

When you walk, you won’t be held back; when you run, you won’t stumble.

But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it.

Guide my steps by your word, so I will not be overcome by evil.

Then many who heard him say these things believed in him.Jesus said to the people who believed in him,“ You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings.And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”“ But we are descendants of Abraham,” they said.“ We have never been slaves to anyone. What do you mean,‘ You will be set free’?”Jesus replied,“ I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave of sin.A slave is not a permanent member of the family, but a son is part of the family forever.So if the Son sets you free, you are truly free.

They promise freedom, but they themselves are slaves of sin and corruption. For you are a slave to whatever controls you.

“ You search the Scriptures because you think they give you eternal life. But the Scriptures point to me!

I rejoice in your word like one who discovers a great treasure.

I stay awake through the night, thinking about your promise.

Search for them as you would for silver; seek them like hidden treasures.Then you will understand what it means to fear the Lord, and you will gain knowledge of God.

So whatever you say or whatever you do, remember that you will be judged by the law that sets you free.

Unfriendly people care only about themselves; they lash out at common sense.

I am only a foreigner in the land. Don’t hide your commands from me!

I devoted myself to search for understanding and to explore by wisdom everything being done under heaven. I soon discovered that God has dealt a tragic existence to the human race.

Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do.

My suffering was good for me, for it taught me to pay attention to your decrees.
