For look, the wicked bend their bows; they set their arrows against the strings to shoot from the shadows at the upright in heart.

Look! Evil people are bending their bows. They are placing their arrows against the strings. They are planning to shoot from the shadows at those who have honest hearts.

for behold, the wicked bend the bow; they have fitted their arrow to the string to shoot in the dark at the upright in heart;

The wicked are stringing their bows and fitting their arrows on the bowstrings. They shoot from the shadows at those whose hearts are right.

For look, the wicked string bows; they put their arrows on bowstrings to shoot from the shadows at the upright in heart.

For, behold, the wicked bend the bow, They have set their arrow on the string To shoot in darkness at the upright in heart.

For look! The wicked bend their bow, They make ready their arrow on the string, That they may shoot secretly at the upright in heart.

The next morning some Jews formed a conspiracy and bound themselves with an oath not to eat or drink until they had killed Paul.More than forty men were involved in this plot.They went to the chief priests and the elders and said,“ We have taken a solemn oath not to eat anything until we have killed Paul.Now then, you and the Sanhedrin petition the commander to bring him before you on the pretext of wanting more accurate information about his case. We are ready to kill him before he gets here.” (niv)

He lies in wait near the villages; from ambush he murders the innocent. His eyes watch in secret for his victims;like a lion in cover he lies in wait. He lies in wait to catch the helpless; he catches the helpless and drags them off in his net. (niv)

“ I will give her to him,” he thought,“ so that she may be a snare to him and so that the hand of the Philistines may be against him.” So Saul said to David,“ Now you have a second opportunity to become my son-in-law.” (niv)

and they schemed to arrest Jesus secretly and kill him. (niv)

My shield is God Most High, who saves the upright in heart. (niv)

In his arrogance the wicked man hunts down the weak, who are caught in the schemes he devises. (niv)

Rejoice in the Lord and be glad, you righteous; sing, all you who are upright in heart! (niv)

If he does not relent, he will sharpen his sword; he will bend and string his bow. (niv)

The righteous will rejoice in the Lord and take refuge in him; all the upright in heart will glory in him! (niv)
