You descendants of Abraham, His servant, You sons of Jacob, His chosen ones!

他仆人亚伯拉罕的后裔啊！他所拣选的人，雅各的子孙哪！

亞伯漢。主之僕。雅谷伯。蒙拔擢。聖祖裔。可不勉。能敬主。庶無忝。

you his servants, the descendants of Abraham, his chosen ones, the children of Jacob.

Remember what he has done, you children of his servant Abraham. Remember it, you people of Jacob, God’s chosen ones.

O offspring of Abraham, his servant, children of Jacob, his chosen ones!

O seed of Abraham His servant, You children of Jacob, His chosen ones!

O ye seed of Abraham his servant, Ye children of Jacob, his chosen ones.

O ye seed of Abraham his servant, ye children of Jacob his chosen.

O children of Abraham, God’s servant, you descendants of Jacob, God’s chosen ones!

And He said,“ I am the God of your father— the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” Then Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look at God.

For the Lord has chosen Jacob for Himself, Israel as His own possession.

“ But now listen, Jacob, My servant, And Israel, whom I have chosen:This is what the Lord says, He who made you And formed you from the womb, who will help you:‘ Do not fear, Jacob My servant, And Jeshurun, whom I have chosen.

So that I may see the prosperity of Your chosen ones, That I may rejoice in the joy of Your nation, That I may boast with Your inheritance.

You did not choose Me but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name He may give to you.

“ But you, Israel, My servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, Descendant of Abraham My friend,

who are Israelites, to whom belongs the adoption as sons and daughters, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the Law, the temple service, and the promises;whose are the fathers, and from whom is the Christ according to the flesh, who is over all, God blessed forever. Amen.But it is not as though the word of God has failed. For they are not all Israel who are descended from Israel;nor are they all children because they are Abraham’s descendants, but:“ through Isaac your descendants shall be named.”That is, it is not the children of the flesh who are children of God, but the children of the promise are regarded as descendants.For this is the word of promise:“ At this time I will come, and Sarah will have a son.”And not only that, but there was also Rebekah, when she had conceived twins by one man, our father Isaac;for though the twins were not yet born and had not done anything good or bad, so that God’s purpose according to His choice would stand, not because of works but because of Him who calls,it was said to her,“ The older will serve the younger.”Just as it is written:“ Jacob I have loved, but Esau I have hated.”What shall we say then? There is no injustice with God, is there? Far from it!For He says to Moses,“ I will have mercy on whomever I have mercy, and I will show compassion to whomever I show compassion.”So then, it does not depend on the person who wants it nor the one who runs, but on God who has mercy.For the Scripture says to Pharaoh,“ For this very reason I raised you up, in order to demonstrate My power in you, and that My name might be proclaimed throughout the earth.”So then He has mercy on whom He desires, and He hardens whom He desires.You will say to me then,“ Why does He still find fault? For who has resisted His will?”On the contrary, who are you, you foolish person, who answers back to God? The thing molded will not say to the molder,“ Why did you make me like this,” will it?Or does the potter not have a right over the clay, to make from the same lump one object for honorable use, and another for common use?What if God, although willing to demonstrate His wrath and to make His power known, endured with great patience objects of wrath prepared for destruction?And He did so to make known the riches of His glory upon objects of mercy, which He prepared beforehand for glory,namely us, whom He also called, not only from among Jews, but also from among Gentiles,as He also says in Hosea:“ I will call those who were not My people,‘ My people,’ And her who was not beloved,‘ beloved.’ ”“ And it shall be that in the place where it was said to them,‘ you are not My people,’ There they shall be called sons of the living God.”Isaiah cries out concerning Israel,“ Though the number of the sons of Israel may be like the sand of the sea, only the remnant will be saved;for the Lord will execute His word on the earth, thoroughly and quickly.”And just as Isaiah foretold:“ If the Lord of armies had not left us descendants, We would have become like Sodom, and would have been like Gomorrah.”

Do not fear, you worm Jacob, you people of Israel; I will help you,” declares the Lord,“ and your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel.

For He remembered His holy word With His servant Abraham;

For you are a holy people to the Lord your God; the Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for His personal possession out of all the peoples who are on the face of the earth.“ The Lord did not make you His beloved nor choose you because you were greater in number than any of the peoples, since you were the fewest of all peoples,but because the Lord loved you and kept the oath which He swore to your forefathers, the Lord brought you out by a mighty hand and redeemed you from the house of slavery, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;
