when I determined its boundaries and put its bars and doors in place,when I declared:“ You may come this far, but no farther; your proud waves stop here”?
Do you not fear Me? This is the Lord’s declaration. Do you not tremble before Me, the One who set the sand as the boundary of the sea, an enduring barrier that it cannot cross? The waves surge, but they cannot prevail. They roar but cannot pass over it.
I confirm My covenant with you that never again will every creature be wiped out by the waters of a flood; there will never again be a flood to destroy the earth.”And God said,“ This is the sign of the covenant I am making between Me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all future generations:I have placed My bow in the clouds, and it will be a sign of the covenant between Me and the earth.Whenever I form clouds over the earth and the bow appears in the clouds,I will remember My covenant between Me and you and all the living creatures: water will never again become a flood to destroy every creature.
“ For this is like the days of Noah to Me: when I swore that the waters of Noah would never flood the earth again, so I have sworn that I will not be angry with you or rebuke you.
