The life of mortals is like grass, they flourish like a flower of the field;

The life of human beings is like grass. People grow like the flowers in the field.

As for man, his days are like grass; he flourishes like a flower of the field;

Our days on earth are like grass; like wildflowers, we bloom and die.

As for man, his days are like grass— he blooms like a flower of the field;

As for man, his days are like grass; Like a flower of the field, so he flourishes.

As for man, his days are like grass; As a flower of the field, so he flourishes.

A person’s life is like grass. Like a flower in the field it flourishes,

For,“ All people are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, (niv)

But the rich should take pride in their humiliation— since they will pass away like a wild flower.For the sun rises with scorching heat and withers the plant; its blossom falls and its beauty is destroyed. In the same way, the rich will fade away even while they go about their business. (niv)

“ I, even I, am he who comforts you. Who are you that you fear mere mortals, human beings who are but grass, (niv)

That fading flower, his glorious beauty, set on the head of a fertile valley, will be like figs ripe before harvest— as soon as people see them and take them in hand, they swallow them. (niv)

A voice says,“ Cry out.” And I said,“ What shall I cry?”“ All people are like grass, and all their faithfulness is like the flowers of the field.The grass withers and the flowers fall, because the breath of the Lord blows on them. Surely the people are grass.The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever.” (niv)

Yet you sweep people away in the sleep of death— they are like the new grass of the morning:In the morning it springs up new, but by evening it is dry and withered. (niv)

“ Mortals, born of woman, are of few days and full of trouble.They spring up like flowers and wither away; like fleeting shadows, they do not endure.Do you fix your eye on them? Will you bring them before you for judgment? (niv)

He rebukes the sea and dries it up; he makes all the rivers run dry. Bashan and Carmel wither and the blossoms of Lebanon fade. (niv)

Woe to that wreath, the pride of Ephraim’s drunkards, to the fading flower, his glorious beauty, set on the head of a fertile valley— to that city, the pride of those laid low by wine! (niv)
