誹謗之流、余必棄之、矜高之輩、余不容之兮、

陰毀友朋者、我必絕之、目傲心驕者、我必不容之、

傲者我莫親。讒者我所棄。

Whoever slanders their neighbor in secret, I will put to silence; whoever has haughty eyes and a proud heart, I will not tolerate.

I will get rid of anyone who tells lies about their neighbor in secret. I won’t put up with anyone whose eyes and heart are proud.

Whoever slanders his neighbor secretly I will destroy. Whoever has a haughty look and an arrogant heart I will not endure.

I will not tolerate people who slander their neighbors. I will not endure conceit and pride.

I will destroy anyone who secretly slanders his neighbor; I cannot tolerate anyone with haughty eyes or an arrogant heart.

You sit and testify against your brother and slander your own mother’s son. (niv)

In you are slanderers who are bent on shedding blood; in you are those who eat at the mountain shrines and commit lewd acts. (niv)

In his arrogance the wicked man hunts down the weak, who are caught in the schemes he devises.He boasts about the cravings of his heart; he blesses the greedy and reviles the Lord.In his pride the wicked man does not seek him; in all his thoughts there is no room for God. (niv)

The eyes of the arrogant will be humbled and human pride brought low; the Lord alone will be exalted in that day. (niv)

In the same way, the women are to be worthy of respect, not malicious talkers but temperate and trustworthy in everything. (niv)

Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and exalt and glorify the King of heaven, because everything he does is right and all his ways are just. And those who walk in pride he is able to humble. (niv)

There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to him:haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood,a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil,a false witness who pours out lies and a person who stirs up conflict in the community. The pride of your heart has deceived you, you who live in the clefts of the rocks and make your home on the heights, you who say to yourself,‘ Who can bring me down to the ground?’Though you soar like the eagle and make your nest among the stars, from there I will bring you down,” declares the Lord. Like a north wind that brings unexpected rain is a sly tongue— which provokes a horrified look. (niv)

A gossip betrays a confidence; so avoid anyone who talks too much. (niv)

“ Do not spread false reports. Do not help a guilty person by being a malicious witness. (niv)

Whoever conceals hatred with lying lips and spreads slander is a fool. (niv)

But now I am writing to you that you must not associate with anyone who claims to be a brother or sister but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or slanderer, a drunkard or swindler. Do not even eat with such people. (niv)

Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. (niv)

Though the Lord is exalted, he looks kindly on the lowly; though lofty, he sees them from afar. (niv)

In the same way, you who are younger, submit yourselves to your elders. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because,“ God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.”Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. (niv)
