我非禮不視、深惡邪僻、雖片刻不敢從兮、

邪僻之事、不容在我目前、叛逆之事、我最恨惡、不容沾染我身、

蕩滌邪與淫。痛絕虛偽習。

I will not look with approval on anything that is vile. I hate what faithless people do; I will have no part in it.

I won’t look at anything that is evil and call it good. I hate the acts of people who aren’t faithful to you. I won’t have anything to do with those things.

I will not set before my eyes anything that is worthless. I hate the work of those who fall away; it shall not cling to me.

I will refuse to look at anything vile and vulgar. I hate all who deal crookedly; I will have nothing to do with them.

I will not let anything worthless guide me. I hate the practice of transgression; it will not cling to me.

I will set no worthless thing before my eyes; I hate the work of those who fall away; It shall not cling to me.

I will set nothing wicked before my eyes; I hate the work of those who fall away; It shall not cling to me.

I will set no base thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; It shall not cleave unto me.

I will not set anything worthless before my eyes. I hate the practice of transgression; it will not cling to me.

I will not even consider doing what is dishonest. I hate doing evil; I will have no part of it.

Turn my eyes away from looking at worthless things. Revive me in your ways.

“ I made a covenant with my eyes, how then should I look lustfully at a young woman?

At evening, David arose from his bed and walked on the roof of the king’s house. From the roof, he saw a woman bathing, and the woman was very beautiful to look at.David sent and inquired after the woman. One said,“ Isn’t this Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam, Uriah the Hittite’s wife?”

but I tell you that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart.

“ You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor’s.”

Let no man say when he is tempted,“ I am tempted by God,” for God can’t be tempted by evil, and he himself tempts no one.But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own lust and enticed.Then the lust, when it has conceived, bears sin. The sin, when it is full grown, produces death.

Don’t lust after her beauty in your heart, neither let her captivate you with her eyelids.

Blessed is the man who makes Yahweh his trust, and doesn’t respect the proud, nor such as turn away to lies.

“ Therefore be very courageous to keep and to do all that is written in the book of the law of Moses, that you not turn away from it to the right hand or to the left;

Beware that there not be a wicked thought in your heart, saying,“ The seventh year, the year of release, is at hand,” and your eye be evil against your poor brother and you give him nothing; and he cry to Yahweh against you, and it be sin to you.

Better is the sight of the eyes than the wandering of the desire. This also is vanity and a chasing after wind.

Samuel said to the people,“ Don’t be afraid. You have indeed done all this evil; yet don’t turn away from following Yahweh, but serve Yahweh with all your heart.Don’t turn away to go after vain things which can’t profit or deliver, for they are vain.

Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor that which is evil. Cling to that which is good.

They have all gone aside. They have together become corrupt. There is no one who does good, no, not one.

But now that you have come to know God, or rather to be known by God, why do you turn back again to the weak and miserable elemental principles, to which you desire to be in bondage all over again?

But your eyes and your heart are only for your covetousness, for shedding innocent blood, for oppression, and for doing violence.”

They have turned away quickly out of the way which I commanded them. They have made themselves a molded calf, and have worshiped it, and have sacrificed to it, and said,‘ These are your gods, Israel, which brought you up out of the land of Egypt.’”

They turned again and tempted God, and provoked the Holy One of Israel.

Get out of the way. Turn away from the path. Cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us.”

I hate double- minded men, but I love your law.

For it would be better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than after knowing it, to turn back from the holy commandment delivered to them.

But we are not of those who shrink back to destruction, but of those who have faith to the saving of the soul.

Don’t look at the wine when it is red, when it sparkles in the cup, when it goes down smoothly.In the end, it bites like a snake, and poisons like a viper.Your eyes will see strange things, and your mind will imagine confusing things.Yes, you will be as he who lies down in the middle of the sea, or as he who lies on top of the rigging:“ They hit me, and I was not hurt! They beat me, and I don’t feel it! When will I wake up? I can do it again. I can find another.”

Nothing of the devoted thing shall cling to your hand, that Yahweh may turn from the fierceness of his anger and show you mercy, and have compassion on you and multiply you, as he has sworn to your fathers,

They covet fields, and seize them; and houses, and take them away: and they oppress a man and his house, even a man and his heritage.

Yahweh has rewarded me according to my righteousness. According to the cleanness of my hands, he has recompensed me.For I have kept the ways of Yahweh, and have not wickedly departed from my God.For all his ordinances were before me. I didn’t put away his statutes from me.I was also blameless with him. I kept myself from my iniquity.

“ It grieves me that I have set up Saul to be king; for he has turned back from following me, and has not performed my commandments.” Samuel was angry; and he cried to Yahweh all night.

Ahab spoke to Naboth, saying,“ Give me your vineyard, that I may have it for a garden of herbs, because it is near my house; and I will give you for it a better vineyard than it. Or, if it seems good to you, I will give you its worth in money.”Naboth said to Ahab,“ May Yahweh forbid me, that I should give the inheritance of my fathers to you!”Ahab came into his house sullen and angry because of the word which Naboth the Jezreelite had spoken to him; for he had said,“ I will not give you the inheritance of my fathers.” He laid himself down on his bed, and turned away his face, and would eat no bread.But Jezebel his wife came to him, and said to him,“ Why is your spirit so sad, that you eat no bread?”He said to her,“ Because I spoke to Naboth the Jezreelite, and said to him,‘ Give me your vineyard for money; or else, if it pleases you, I will give you another vineyard for it.’ He answered,‘ I will not give you my vineyard.’”Jezebel his wife said to him,“ Do you now govern the kingdom of Israel? Arise, and eat bread, and let your heart be merry. I will give you the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite.”So she wrote letters in Ahab’s name, and sealed them with his seal, and sent the letters to the elders and to the nobles who were in his city, who lived with Naboth.She wrote in the letters, saying,“ Proclaim a fast, and set Naboth on high among the people.Set two men, wicked fellows, before him, and let them testify against him, saying,‘ You cursed God and the king!’ Then carry him out, and stone him to death.”The men of his city, even the elders and the nobles who lived in his city, did as Jezebel had instructed them in the letters which she had written and sent to them.They proclaimed a fast, and set Naboth on high among the people.The two men, the wicked fellows, came in and sat before him. The wicked fellows testified against him, even against Naboth, in the presence of the people, saying,“ Naboth cursed God and the king!” Then they carried him out of the city and stoned him to death with stones.Then they sent to Jezebel, saying,“ Naboth has been stoned, and is dead.”When Jezebel heard that Naboth had been stoned, and was dead, Jezebel said to Ahab,“ Arise, take possession of the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, which he refused to give you for money; for Naboth is not alive, but dead.”When Ahab heard that Naboth was dead, Ahab rose up to go down to the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, to take possession of it.Yahweh’s word came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying,“ Arise, go down to meet Ahab king of Israel, who dwells in Samaria. Behold, he is in the vineyard of Naboth, where he has gone down to take possession of it.You shall speak to him, saying,‘ Yahweh says,“ Have you killed and also taken possession?”’ You shall speak to him, saying,‘ Yahweh says,“ In the place where dogs licked the blood of Naboth, dogs will lick your blood, even yours.”’”Ahab said to Elijah,“ Have you found me, my enemy?” He answered,“ I have found you, because you have sold yourself to do that which is evil in Yahweh’s sight.Behold, I will bring evil on you, and will utterly sweep you away and will cut off from Ahab everyone who urinates against a wall, and him who is shut up and him who is left at large in Israel.I will make your house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah for the provocation with which you have provoked me to anger, and have made Israel to sin.”Yahweh also spoke of Jezebel, saying,“ The dogs will eat Jezebel by the rampart of Jezreel.The dogs will eat he who dies of Ahab in the city; and the birds of the sky will eat he who dies in the field.”But there was no one like Ahab, who sold himself to do that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight, whom Jezebel his wife stirred up.He did very abominably in following idols, according to all that the Amorites did, whom Yahweh cast out before the children of Israel.When Ahab heard those words, he tore his clothes, and put sackcloth on his flesh, and fasted, and lay in sackcloth, and went softly.Yahweh’s word came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying,“ See how Ahab humbles himself before me? Because he humbles himself before me, I will not bring the evil in his days; but I will bring the evil on his house in his son’s day.”

I said,“ I will watch my ways, so that I don’t sin with my tongue. I will keep my mouth with a bridle while the wicked is before me.”

I have not sat with deceitful men, neither will I go in with hypocrites.I hate the assembly of evildoers, and will not sit with the wicked.

The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit. He has ceased to be wise and to do good.

He who walks righteously and speaks blamelessly, he who despises the gain of oppressions, who gestures with his hands, refusing to take a bribe, who stops his ears from hearing of blood, and shuts his eyes from looking at evil—

You who love Yahweh, hate evil! He preserves the souls of his saints. He delivers them out of the hand of the wicked.

but turned back, and dealt treacherously like their fathers. They were twisted like a deceitful bow.

those who worship the army of the sky on the housetops, those who worship and swear by Yahweh and also swear by Malcam,those who have turned back from following Yahweh, and those who haven’t sought Yahweh nor inquired after him.

For they have prepared their heart like an oven, while they lie in wait. Their baker sleeps all the night. In the morning it burns as a flaming fire.They are all hot as an oven, and devour their judges. All their kings have fallen. There is no one among them who calls to me.

But as for those who turn away to their crooked ways, Yahweh will lead them away with the workers of iniquity. Peace be on Israel.
