主已垂聽兮。謙者之音。必賜慰藉兮。堅固其心。

You, Lord, hear the desire of the afflicted; you encourage them, and you listen to their cry,

Lord, you hear the desires of those who are hurting. You cheer them up and give them hope. You listen to their cries.

O Lord, you hear the desire of the afflicted; you will strengthen their heart; you will incline your ear

Lord, you know the hopes of the helpless. Surely you will hear their cries and comfort them.

LORD, you have heard the desire of the humble; you will strengthen their hearts. You will listen carefully,

Lord, You have heard the desire of the humble; You will prepare their heart; You will cause Your ear to hear,

Jehovah, thou hast heard the desire of the meek: Thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear;

LORD, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear:

LORD, you have heard the request of the oppressed; you make them feel secure because you listen to their prayer.

Yahweh, you have heard the desire of the humble. You will prepare their heart. You will cause your ear to hear,

Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, our ancestors, keep this desire forever in the thoughts of the hearts of Your people, and confirm their hearts toward You.

He fulfills the desires of those who fear Him; He hears their cry for help and saves them.

Even before they call, I will answer; while they are still speaking, I will hear.

“ But the tax collector, standing far off, would not even raise his eyes to heaven but kept striking his chest and saying,‘ God, turn Your wrath from me— a sinner!’I tell you, this one went down to his house justified rather than the other; because everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted.”

Don’t be deceived, my dearly loved brothers.Every generous act and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights; with Him there is no variation or shadow cast by turning.

Take delight in the Lord, and He will give you your heart’s desires.

because the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and His ears are open to their request. But the face of the Lord is against those who do what is evil.

For the oppressed will not always be forgotten; the hope of the afflicted will not perish forever.

because your heart was tender and you humbled yourself before God when you heard His words against this place and against its inhabitants, and because you humbled yourself before Me, and you tore your clothes and wept before Me, I Myself have heard’— this is the Lord’s declaration.

For the One who seeks an accounting for bloodshed remembers them; He does not forget the cry of the afflicted.

When he was in distress, he sought the favor of Yahweh his God and earnestly humbled himself before the God of his ancestors.He prayed to Him, so He heard his petition and granted his request, and brought him back to Jerusalem, to his kingdom. So Manasseh came to know that Yahweh is God.

The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their cry for help.

Also, the power of God was at work in Judah to unite them to carry out the command of the king and his officials by the word of the Lord.

He will pay attention to the prayer of the destitute and will not despise their prayer.

In the same way, you younger men, be subject to the elders. And all of you clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.

The reflections of the heart belong to man, but the answer of the tongue is from the Lord.

Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will exalt you.

So Peter was kept in prison, but prayer was being made earnestly to God for him by the church.On the night before Herod was to bring him out for execution, Peter, bound with two chains, was sleeping between two soldiers, while the sentries in front of the door guarded the prison.Suddenly an angel of the Lord appeared, and a light shone in the cell. Striking Peter on the side, he woke him up and said,“ Quick, get up!” Then the chains fell off his wrists.“ Get dressed,” the angel told him,“ and put on your sandals.” And he did so.“ Wrap your cloak around you,” he told him,“ and follow me.”So he went out and followed, and he did not know that what took place through the angel was real, but thought he was seeing a vision.After they passed the first and second guard posts, they came to the iron gate that leads into the city, which opened to them by itself. They went outside and passed one street, and immediately the angel left him.Then Peter came to himself and said,“ Now I know for certain that the Lord has sent His angel and rescued me from Herod’s grasp and from all that the Jewish people expected.”When he realized this, he went to the house of Mary, the mother of John Mark, where many had assembled and were praying.He knocked at the door in the gateway, and a servant named Rhoda came to answer.She recognized Peter’s voice, and because of her joy, she did not open the gate but ran in and announced that Peter was standing at the gateway.“ You’re crazy!” they told her. But she kept insisting that it was true. Then they said,“ It’s his angel!”Peter, however, kept on knocking, and when they opened the door and saw him, they were astounded.Motioning to them with his hand to be silent, he explained to them how the Lord had brought him out of the prison.“ Report these things to James and the brothers,” he said. Then he departed and went to a different place.At daylight, there was a great commotion among the soldiers as to what could have become of Peter.After Herod had searched and did not find him, he interrogated the guards and ordered their execution. Then Herod went down from Judea to Caesarea and stayed there.

In Him we have boldness and confident access through faith in Him.

He will not fear bad news; his heart is confident, trusting in the Lord.His heart is assured; he will not fear. In the end he will look in triumph on his foes.

What the wicked dreads will come to him, but what the righteous desire will be given to them.

But He gives greater grace. Therefore He says: God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.

“ The poor in spirit are blessed, for the kingdom of heaven is theirs.

Then Hezekiah and all the people rejoiced over how God had prepared the people, for it had come about suddenly.

For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.

When they heard this, they all raised their voices to God and said,“ Master, You are the One who made the heaven, the earth, and the sea, and everything in them.You said through the Holy Spirit, by the mouth of our father David Your servant: Why did the Gentiles rage and the peoples plot futile things?The kings of the earth took their stand and the rulers assembled together against the Lord and against His Messiah.“ For, in fact, in this city both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel, assembled together against Your holy Servant Jesus, whom You anointed,to do whatever Your hand and Your plan had predestined to take place.And now, Lord, consider their threats, and grant that Your slaves may speak Your message with complete boldness,while You stretch out Your hand for healing, signs, and wonders to be performed through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus.”When they had prayed, the place where they were assembled was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak God’s message with boldness.

In the same way the Spirit also joins to help in our weakness, because we do not know what to pray for as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with unspoken groanings.

The sacrifice of the wicked is detestable to the Lord, but the prayer of the upright is His delight.
