免爾尊榮畀他人、歲月供殘暴、

恐爾精力為之漸耗、恐爾壽齡為之日促、

恐爾之榮榮或作精力為他人所敗、恐爾之年為殘忍者所促、

lest you lose your honor to others and your dignity to one who is cruel,

If you do, you will lose your honor to other people. You will give your self- respect to someone who is mean.

lest you give your honor to others and your years to the merciless,

If you do, you will lose your honor and will lose to merciless people all you have achieved.

Otherwise, you will give up your vitality to others and your years to someone cruel;

Otherwise you will give your vigor to others, And your years to the cruel one;

So he that goeth in to his neighbour’s wife; whosoever toucheth her shall not be innocent.[ Men] do not despise a thief, if he steal to satisfy his soul when he is hungry;But[ if] he be found, he shall restore sevenfold; he shall give all the substance of his house.[ But] whoso committeth adultery with a woman lacketh understanding: he[ that] doeth it destroyeth his own soul.A wound and dishonour shall he get; and his reproach shall not be wiped away.For jealousy[ is] the rage of a man: therefore he will not spare in the day of vengeance.He will not regard any ransom; neither will he rest content, though thou givest many gifts.
