Surely I am only a dumb animal and not a man. I don’t understand as other men do.

我比众人更蠢笨，也没有人的聪明。

曰、我愚於眾、未有他人之聰明、

Surely I am only a brute, not a man; I do not have human understanding.

Surely I am too stupid to be a man. I have not the understanding of a man.

I am too stupid to be human, and I lack common sense.

I am more stupid than any other person, and I lack a human’s ability to understand.

I am certainly more stupid than any man, And I do not have the understanding of a man;

Surely I am more stupid than any man, And do not have the understanding of a man.

Surely I am more brutish than any man, And have not the understanding of a man;

I am more stupid than any other man, and I lack man’s ability to understand.

Surely I am more brutish than any other human being, and I do not have human understanding;

“ Surely I am the most ignorant man, and don’t have a man’s understanding.

I didn’t have any sense. I didn’t know anything. I acted like a wild animal toward you.

You asked me,‘ Who do you think you are to disagree with my plans? You do not know what you are talking about.’ I spoke about things I didn’t completely understand. I talked about things that were too wonderful for me to know.“ You said,‘ Listen now, and I will speak. I will ask you some questions. Then I want you to answer me.’My ears had heard about you. But now my own eyes have seen you.So I hate myself. I’m really sorry for what I said about you. That’s why I’m sitting in dust and ashes.”

Don’t fool yourselves. Suppose some of you think you are wise by the standards of the world. Then you should become“ fools” so that you can become wise.

No one has any sense or knows anything at all. Everyone who works with gold is put to shame by his gods. The metal gods he has made are fakes. They can’t even breathe.

You will say,“ How I hated to take advice! How my heart refused to be corrected!

Everyone can see that even wise people die. People who are foolish and who have no sense also pass away. All of them leave their wealth to others.

Brothers and sisters, here is a mystery I want you to understand. It will keep you from being proud. Part of Israel has refused to obey God. That will continue until the full number of Gentiles has entered God’s kingdom.

“ How terrible it is for me!” I cried out.“ I’m about to be destroyed! My mouth speaks sinful words. And I live among people who speak sinful words. Now I have seen the King with my own eyes. He is the Lord who rules over all.”

Those who think they know something still don’t know as they should.

If any of you needs wisdom, you should ask God for it. He will give it to you. God gives freely to everyone and doesn’t find fault.

Here is something that people without sense don’t know. Here is what foolish people don’t understand.

These people speak evil about things they don’t understand. They are like wild animals who can’t think. Instead, they do what comes naturally to them. They are born only to be caught and destroyed. Just like animals, these people too will die.They will be paid back with harm for the harm they have done. Their idea of pleasure is to have wild parties in the middle of the day. They are like dirty spots and stains. They enjoy their sinful pleasures while they eat with you.They stare at women who are not their wives. They want to sleep with them. They never stop sinning. They trap those who are not firm in their faith. They have mastered the art of getting what they want. God has placed them under his judgment.They have left God’s way. They have wandered off. They follow the way of Balaam, son of Beor. He loved to get paid for doing his evil work.But a donkey corrected him for the wrong he did. Animals don’t speak. But the donkey spoke with a human voice. It tried to stop the prophet from doing a very dumb thing.
