Do not accuse anyone for no reason— when they have done you no harm.

Don’t bring charges against anyone for no reason. They have not harmed you.

Do not contend with a man for no reason, when he has done you no harm.

Don’t pick a fight without reason, when no one has done you harm.

Don’t accuse anyone without cause, when he has done you no harm.

好氣的人挑啟爭端；暴怒的人多多犯罪。

紛爭的起頭如水放開，所以，在爭鬧之先必當止息爭競。

若是能行，總要盡力與眾人和睦。親愛的弟兄，不要自己伸冤，寧可讓步，聽憑主怒；因為經上記着：「主說：『伸冤在我，我必報應。』」所以，「你的仇敵若餓了，就給他吃，若渴了，就給他喝；因為你這樣行就是把炭火堆在他的頭上。」你不可為惡所勝，反要以善勝惡。

愚昧人張嘴啟爭端，開口招鞭打。

不要冒失出去與人爭競，免得至終被他羞辱，你就不知道怎樣行了。你與鄰舍爭訟，要與他一人辯論，不可洩漏人的密事，

然而主的僕人不可爭競，只要溫溫和和地待眾人，善於教導，存心忍耐，

只是我告訴你們，不要與惡人作對。有人打你的右臉，連左臉也轉過來由他打；有人想要告你，要拿你的裏衣，連外衣也由他拿去；有人強逼你走一里路，你就同他走二里；

你們竟是弟兄與弟兄告狀，而且告在不信主的人面前。你們彼此告狀，這已經是你們的大錯了。為甚麼不情願受欺呢？為甚麼不情願吃虧呢？你們倒是欺壓人、虧負人，況且所欺壓所虧負的就是弟兄。
