When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice; when the wicked rule, the people groan.

When those who do right grow stronger, the people are glad. But when those who do wrong become rulers, the people groan.

末底改身穿藍色和白色朝服，頭戴大金冠，披著紫色細麻布外袍，從王那裡出來，書珊城的人都歡呼雀躍。

信差奉王的命令急忙上路，諭旨也在書珊城裡頒佈了。王和哈曼坐下飲酒，書珊城一片慌亂。

我發現日光之下有一件可悲的事，似乎是掌權者所犯的錯誤：

看啊，必有一位君王以公義治國，官員們必秉公施政。每人都像躲避狂風暴雨的庇護所，如荒漠中的溪流，又似乾旱之地遮蔭的大磐石。

第七位天使吹響號角的時候，天上有大聲音說：「世上的國度現在已經屬於我們的主和祂所立的基督了。祂要作王，直到永永遠遠。」

希律見自己被智者愚弄，大為惱怒，便照著智者所說的時間推算，下令把伯利恆附近兩歲以下的男孩殺光。

希律王聽後，心裡不安，全城的人都感到不安。

上帝啊，求你將你的公正賜給王，將你的公義賜給王的兒子。讓他憑公義審判你的子民，按公平對待那些貧苦的人。願大山給百姓帶來繁榮，小山帶來公義。願他保護百姓中受苦的人，拯救貧窮的人，打倒欺壓者。只要日月尚存，願百姓永遠敬畏你。願他的統治如春雨降在新割過的草場上，又像甘霖滋潤大地。在他統治之下，願義人興旺，國富民強，如月長存。

耶和華說：「看啊，時候將到，我要為大衛選立一個公義的苗裔，使他執掌王權。他必秉公行義，治國有方。在他掌權的日子，猶大必得拯救，以色列必國泰民安。他將被稱為『耶和華是我們的公義』。」
