He gave them to two of his servants and they carried them for Gehazi.When he arrived at the hill, he took them from the servants and put them in the house. Then he sent the men on their way.When he came and stood before his master, Elisha asked him,“ Where have you been, Gehazi?” He answered,“ Your servant hasn’t been anywhere.”Elisha replied,“ I was there in spirit when a man turned and got down from his chariot to meet you. This is not the proper time to accept silver or to accept clothes, olive groves, vineyards, sheep, cattle, and male and female servants.Therefore Naaman’s skin disease will afflict you and your descendants forever!” When Gehazi went out from his presence, his skin was as white as snow.

Blessings are on the head of the righteous, but the speech of the wicked conceals violence.

Now what is sought in stewards is that one be found faithful.So for me, it is a minor matter that I am judged by you or by any human court. In fact, I do not even judge myself.For I am not aware of anything against myself, but I am not acquitted because of this. The one who judges me is the Lord.So then, do not judge anything before the time. Wait until the Lord comes. He will bring to light the hidden things of darkness and reveal the motives of hearts. Then each will receive recognition from God.

In the darkness a light shines for the godly, for each one who is merciful, compassionate, and just.It goes well for the one who generously lends money, and conducts his business honestly.For he will never be upended; others will always remember one who is just.He does not fear bad news. He is confident; he trusts in the LORD.His resolve is firm; he will not succumb to fear before he looks in triumph on his enemies.He generously gives to the needy; his integrity endures. He will be vindicated and honored.

The Lord replied,“ Who then is the faithful and wise manager, whom the master puts in charge of his household servants, to give them their allowance of food at the proper time?

The one who mocks the poor insults his Creator; whoever rejoices over disaster will not go unpunished.

‘ I know where you live– where Satan’s throne is. Yet you continue to cling to my name and you have not denied your faith in me, even in the days of Antipas, my faithful witness, who was killed in your city where Satan lives.

Do not wear yourself out to become rich; be wise enough to restrain yourself.

Those who long to be rich, however, stumble into temptation and a trap and many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction.For the love of money is the root of all evils. Some people in reaching for it have strayed from the faith and stabbed themselves with many pains.

Ahimelech replied to the king,“ Who among all your servants is faithful like David? He is the king’s son-in-law, the leader of your bodyguard, and honored in your house!
