这些事的发生，是为了我们的鉴戒，好使我们不像他们成为贪恋恶事的人。

你们虽然知道这一切，我还想提醒你们：主一次性地把子民从埃及地救了出来，后来把那些不信的人都毁灭了，并且用永恒的锁链把那些不守本位、离开自己居所的天使拘留在幽暗里，直到那大日子的审判。同样，所多玛、格摩拉及其周围的城市，照着他们的样子放纵行淫，随从变态的肉欲，就遭受永火的刑罚，成为我们的鉴戒。

这些事发生在他们身上，做为鉴戒；并且被记载下来，是为了警戒我们这些面临万世结局的人。

你们发怒却不可犯罪；在床上的时候，要心里默想，并要安静。细拉

玛丽亚却把这一切事存在心里，反复思想。

于是耶稣与他们一起下去，回到拿撒勒，一直服从他们。他的母亲把这一切事都珍藏在心里。
