大利拉對參孫說：“你既然對我不真心，你怎能說：‘我愛你’？你這三次作弄我，沒有告訴我你這麼大的力氣是哪裡來的。”

耶穌說話的時候，有一個法利賽人請耶穌和他一起吃飯；他就進去坐席。這個法利賽人見耶穌吃飯之前不洗手，覺得奇怪。主對他說：“你們法利賽人把杯盤的外面洗淨，但你們裡面卻充滿了搶奪和邪惡。無知的人哪，那造外面的，不也造裡面嗎？只要把裡面的施捨出去，你們的一切就都潔淨了。然而你們法利賽人有禍了！因為你們把薄荷、茴香和各樣菜蔬獻上十分之一，卻把公義和愛神的事疏忽了；這些是你們應當作的，但其他的也不可疏忽。你們法利賽人有禍了！因為你們喜愛會堂裡的高位和人在巿中心的問安。你們有禍了！因為你們好像不顯露的墳墓，走在上面的人並不知道。”律法師中有一個回答他：“老師，你這樣說，把我們也侮辱了！”耶穌說：“你們律法師也有禍了，因為你們把難擔的擔子叫人擔，自己連一個指頭也不動。你們有禍了！因為你們修造先知的墳墓，而那些先知正是你們祖先所殺的，這樣，你們就成了證人，對你們祖先的作為表示同意；他們殺害先知，你們修造先知的墳墓。所以，神的智慧說：‘我要差遣先知和使徒到他們那裡去，有的他們要殺害，有的他們要迫害，為要使創世以來眾先知所流的血，從亞伯的血起，直到在祭壇和聖所之間受害的撒迦利亞的血為止，都向這一代追討。’是的，我告訴你們，都要向這一代追討。

有幾位經學家彼此說：“這個人在說僭妄的話。”耶穌看出他們所想的，就說：“你們心裡為甚麼存著惡念呢？

請他的法利賽人看見了，心裡說：“這人若是先知，必定知道摸他的是誰，是怎樣的女人，因為她是個罪人！”

至於那兩個王，他們都存心不良；他們同桌吃飯，也彼此說謊；他們的陰謀卻不成功，因為要到了指定的時候，結局才會來到。

人所渴望的，就是忠誠；作窮人比作撒謊的人還好。

押沙龍說：“王若是不去，求王讓我的哥哥暗嫩與我一同去。”王問他：“為甚麼要他與你一同去呢？”押沙龍再三求王，王就派暗嫩和王所有的兒子與他一同去。押沙龍吩咐他的僕人說：“你們注意！暗嫩酒酣耳熱的時候，我對你們說：‘擊殺暗嫩！’你們就把他殺死。不要懼怕，這不是我吩咐你們的嗎？你們要堅強，作勇敢的人。”
