A wicked person displays a bold face, But as for the upright, he makes his way sure.

惡者厚其顏、正人定其行、

惡者剛愎厥心、善者慎思所行。

惡人無廉恥、正直者謹慎所行、

The wicked put up a bold front, but the upright give thought to their ways.

Sinful people try to look as if they were bold. But honest people think about how they live.

A wicked man puts on a bold face, but the upright gives thought to his ways.

The wicked bluff their way through, but the virtuous think before they act.

A wicked person puts on a bold face, but the upright one considers his way.

A wicked man hardens his face, But as for the upright, he establishes his way.

A wicked man hardeneth his face; But as for the upright, he establisheth his ways.

But now, do consider from this day onward: before one stone was placed on another in the temple of the Lord,

Since he understood and turned away from all his offenses which he had committed, he shall certainly live; he shall not die.

Now then, the Lord of armies says this:“ Consider your ways!

How blessed is the person who fears always, But one who hardens his heart will fall into disaster.

A person often rebuked who becomes obstinate Will suddenly be broken beyond remedy.

Now may our God and Father Himself, and our Lord Jesus, direct our way to you;

“ Raise your eyes to the bare heights and see; Where have you not been violated? You have sat for them by the roads Like an Arab in the desert, And you have defiled a land With your prostitution and your wickedness.Therefore the showers have been withheld, And there has been no spring rain. Yet you had a prostitute’s forehead; You refused to be ashamed.

I considered my ways And turned my feet to Your testimonies.

Were they ashamed because of the abomination they had done? They were not ashamed at all, And they did not know how to be ashamed; Therefore they will fall among those who fall; At the time of their punishment they will collapse,” Says the Lord.

The Lord of armies says this:“ Consider your ways!

“ As for the message that you have spoken to us in the name of the Lord, we are not going to listen to you!But we will certainly carry out every word that has proceeded from our mouths, by burning sacrifices to the queen of heaven and pouring out drink offerings to her, just as we ourselves, our forefathers, our kings, and our leaders did in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem; for then we had plenty of food and were well off and saw no misfortune.

But when he came to his senses, he said,‘ How many of my father’s hired laborers have more than enough bread, but I am dying here from hunger!I will set out and go to my father, and will say to him,“ Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in your sight;

Oh that my ways may be established To keep Your statutes!

‘ Do consider from this day onward, from the twenty fourth day of the ninth month; from the day when the temple of the Lord was founded, consider:Is the seed still in the barn? Even including the vine, the fig tree, the pomegranate, and the olive tree, it has not produced fruit. Yet from this day on I will bless you.’ ”

Lord, do Your eyes not look for honesty? You have struck them, But they did not weaken; You have consumed them, But they refused to accept discipline. They have made their faces harder than rock; They have refused to repent.
