“ It’s no good, it’s no good!” says the buyer— then goes off and boasts about the purchase.

“ Bad, bad,” says the buyer, but when he goes away, then he boasts.

The buyer haggles over the price, saying,“ It’s worthless,” then brags about getting a bargain!

“ It’s worthless, it’s worthless!” the buyer says, but after he is on his way, he gloats.

“ Bad, bad,” says the buyer, But when he goes his way, then he boasts.

“ It is good for nothing,” cries the buyer; But when he has gone his way, then he boasts.

It is bad, it is bad, saith the buyer; But when he is gone his way, then he boasteth.

“ It’s worthless, it’s worthless!” the buyer says, but after he is on his way, he gloats.

[ It is] naught,[ it is] naught, saith the buyer: but when he is gone his way, then he boasteth.

and that in this matter no one should wrong or take advantage of a brother or sister. The Lord will punish all those who commit such sins, as we told you and warned you before. (niv)

The merchant uses dishonest scales and loves to defraud.Ephraim boasts,“ I am very rich; I have become wealthy. With all my wealth they will not find in me any iniquity or sin.” (niv)
