who has left the partner of her youth and ignored the covenant she made before God.

She has left the man she married when she was young. She has broken the promise she made in front of God.

“ For this is what the Lord God says: I will deal with you according to what you have done, since you have despised the oath by breaking the covenant.But I will remember the covenant I made with you in the days of your youth, and I will establish an everlasting covenant with you.

“ Then I passed by you and saw you, and you were indeed at the age for love. So I spread the edge of My garment over you and covered your nakedness. I pledged Myself to you, entered into a covenant with you, and you became Mine.” This is the declaration of the Lord God.

Have you not lately called to Me,“ My Father. You were my friend in my youth.

Let your fountain be blessed, and take pleasure in the wife of your youth.

Yet you ask,“ For what reason?” Because the Lord has been a witness between you and the wife of your youth. You have acted treacherously against her, though she was your marriage partner and your wife by covenant.Didn’t the one God make us with a remnant of His life-breath? And what does the One seek? A godly offspring. So watch yourselves carefully, and do not act treacherously against the wife of your youth.“ If he hates and divorces his wife,” says the Lord God of Israel,“ he covers his garment with injustice,” says the Lord of Hosts. Therefore, watch yourselves carefully, and do not act treacherously.
