Enjoy life with your beloved wife during all the days of your fleeting life that God has given you on earth during all your fleeting days; for that is your reward in life and in your burdensome work on earth.

Drink water from your own cistern and running water from your own well.Should your springs be dispersed outside, your streams of water in the wide plazas?Let them be for yourself alone, and not for strangers with you.May your fountain be blessed, and may you rejoice in your young wife–a loving doe, a graceful deer; may her breasts satisfy you at all times, may you be captivated by her love always.But why should you be captivated, my son, by an adulteress, and embrace the bosom of a different woman?For the ways of a person are in front of the LORD’s eyes, and the LORD weighs all that person’s paths.The wicked will be captured by his own iniquities, and he will be held by the cords of his own sin.He will die because there was no discipline; because of the greatness of his folly he will reel.

But because of immoralities, each man should have relations with his own wife and each woman with her own husband.

The LORD God said,“ It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a companion for him who corresponds to him.”

Then Isaac brought Rebekah into his mother Sarah’s tent. He took her as his wife and loved her. So Isaac was comforted after his mother’s death.

So Jacob worked for seven years to acquire Rachel. But they seemed like only a few days to him because his love for her was so great.Finally Jacob said to Laban,“ Give me my wife, for my time of service is up. I want to have marital relations with her.”

For the one who finds me finds life and receives favor from the LORD.

Jacob fled to the country of Aram, then Israel worked to acquire a wife; he tended sheep to pay for her.

Jacob did as Laban said. When Jacob completed Leah’s bridal week, Laban gave him his daughter Rachel to be his wife.

Then you will find favor and good understanding, in the sight of God and people.
