One whose heart is corrupt does not prosper; one whose tongue is perverse falls into trouble.

If your heart is twisted, you won’t succeed. If your tongue tells lies, you will get into trouble.

A man of crooked heart does not discover good, and one with a dishonest tongue falls into calamity.

With the pure, you will show yourself pure. With the crooked you will show yourself shrewd.

For the perverse is an abomination to Yahweh, but his friendship is with the upright.

The fear of Yahweh is to hate evil. I hate pride, arrogance, the evil way, and the perverse mouth.

And the tongue is a fire. The world of iniquity among our members is the tongue, which defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature, and is set on fire by Gehenna.For every kind of animal, bird, creeping thing, and sea creature, is tamed, and has been tamed by mankind;but nobody can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.
