A dishonest man spreads strife, and a whisperer separates close friends.

A troublemaker plants seeds of strife; gossip separates the best of friends.

The words of a gossiper are like dainty morsels, And they go down into the innermost parts of the body.

If anyone advocates a different doctrine and does not agree with sound words, those of our Lord Jesus Christ, and with the doctrine conforming to godliness,he is conceited and understands nothing; but he has a sick craving for controversial questions and disputes about words, from which come envy, strife, abusive language, evil suspicions,and constant friction between people of depraved mind and deprived of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain.

For I am afraid that perhaps when I come I may find you to be not what I wish, and may be found by you to be not what you wish; that perhaps there will be strife, jealousy, angry tempers, selfishness, slanders, gossip, arrogance, disturbances;

An angry person stirs up strife, And a hot tempered person abounds in wrongdoing.

For lack of wood the fire goes out, And where there is no gossiper, quarreling quiets down.Like charcoal to hot embers and wood to fire, So is a contentious person to kindle strife.The words of a gossiper are like dainty morsels, And they go down into the innermost parts of the body.
