Whoever disregards discipline comes to poverty and shame, but whoever heeds correction is honored.

Those who turn away from their training become poor and ashamed. But those who accept warnings are honored.

Poverty and disgrace come to him who ignores instruction, but whoever heeds reproof is honored.

If you ignore criticism, you will end in poverty and disgrace; if you accept correction, you will be honored.

耶和華歟、爾目非顧信實乎、爾擊之、彼不懷憂、爾滅之、彼不受教、惟自堅其顏、逾於磐石、不肯歸誠、我曰、此乃貧乏者、愚昧者、不識耶和華之道、不明其上帝之法、我將詣顯者與之言、彼識耶和華之道、明其上帝之法、惟彼同心折軛斷繩、是以叢林之獅必殺之、曠野之狼必噬之、豹必伺於邑外、凡出邑者、悉為所裂、蓋其罪戾孔多、悖逆增甚、我何能宥爾哉、爾之子女棄我、指彼非神者而誓、我使之飽食、彼則行淫、羣集妓室、彼若肥馬得縱、各向其鄰之妻嘶鳴、耶和華曰、我豈不緣此而加譴責、豈不復仇於若是之國哉、○

輕道義者、自取敗亡、畏誡命者、必得賞賚、

語爾者慎勿拒之、蓋拒在地之傳命者、尚不得逭、況違夫自天者乎、

好施濟、則求之者多、好饋遺、則友之者眾、

智者斥責、於順受之耳、如金製耳環、與精金物飾、

免爾尊榮畀他人、歲月供殘暴、資財充於外人、辛勞歸於他家、終則形銷體敗、難免咨嗟、乃曰、我何恨惡訓誨、心輕斥責、不從師言、不聽傅訓、於羣眾大會中、幾干諸咎、

惟任義人擊我、我以為慈、任其責我、如膏膏首、勿容我首卻之、而我仍以祈禱、禦惡人之邪僻兮、
