The plans of the righteous are just, but the advice of the wicked is deceitful.

The plans of godly people are right. But the advice of sinners will lead you the wrong way.

The thoughts of the righteous are just; the counsels of the wicked are deceitful.

They took counsel together that they might take Jesus by deceit, and kill him.

But we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully, but by the manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.

Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and reveal the counsels of the hearts. Then each man will get his praise from God.

Search me, God, and know my heart. Try me, and know my thoughts.

When King Herod heard it, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.Gathering together all the chief priests and scribes of the people, he asked them where the Christ would be born.They said to him,“ In Bethlehem of Judea, for this is written through the prophet,‘ You Bethlehem, land of Judah, are in no way least among the princes of Judah: for out of you shall come a governor, who shall shepherd my people, Israel.’”Then Herod secretly called the wise men, and learned from them exactly what time the star appeared.He sent them to Bethlehem, and said,“ Go and search diligently for the young child. When you have found him, bring me word, so that I also may come and worship him.”

Jerusalem, wash your heart from wickedness, that you may be saved. How long will your evil thoughts lodge within you?

Everyone lies to his neighbor. They speak with flattering lips, and with a double heart.May Yahweh cut off all flattering lips, and the tongue that boasts,

If he comes to see me, he speaks falsehood. His heart gathers iniquity to itself. When he goes abroad, he tells it.All who hate me whisper together against me. They imagine the worst for me.

For he flatters himself in his own eyes, too much to detect and hate his sin.The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit. He has ceased to be wise and to do good.He plots iniquity on his bed. He sets himself in a way that is not good. He doesn’t abhor evil.

I will meditate on your precepts, and consider your ways.

Deliver me, Yahweh, from the evil man. Preserve me from the violent man:those who devise mischief in their hearts. They continually gather themselves together for war.They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent. Viper’s poison is under their lips. Selah.

Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked by the wise men, was exceedingly angry, and sent out, and killed all the male children who were in Bethlehem and in all the surrounding countryside, from two years old and under, according to the exact time which he had learned from the wise men.

The desire of the righteous is only good. The expectation of the wicked is wrath.

The schemes of folly are sin. The mocker is detested by men.
