惊恐临到你们，好像狂风；灾难来到，如同暴风；急难痛苦临到你们身上。

那时，恐惧如风暴袭击你们，灾难如旋风临到你们，忧愁和苦难吞没你们。

惊恐临到你们好像风暴，灾难如同飓风来临，患难困苦临到你们身上。

那时，恐惧像风暴那样临到，灾难像旋风那样来临，患难和困苦临到你们身上。

驚恐臨到你們，好像狂風；災難來到，如同暴風；急難痛苦臨到你們身上。

那時，恐懼如風暴襲擊你們，災難如旋風臨到你們，憂愁和苦難吞沒你們。

爾所懼之災害、迫切之患難、突如其來、如颶風之倏至。

永恆主不輕易發怒，而是大有能力；永恆主絕不以有罪的為無罪。他所行的路乃在狂風暴雨中，雲彩是他腳下的飛塵。

又有苦難困迫、加給一切厲行惡事的血氣人，先猶太人，而後希利尼人；

突然而來的恐怖、你不懼怕；惡人的毁滅臨到了、你也不驚慌；因為永恆主是你所安心信賴的；他必保守你的腳不被纏住。

願他們不知不覺被割掉像荊棘，像蒺藜像刺草，願他就用旋風給一齊颳去！

願他們的筵席在他們面前變為機檻；願他們的平安祭筵變為誘餌。願他們的眼睛昏矇、不能看見；願他們的腰不斷地戰抖搖晃。求你將你的盛怒倒在他們身上，叫你的猛烈怒氣趕上他們。願他們的營房變為荒涼；願他們的帳棚無人居住。因為你所擊打的、他們就逼迫；你所擊傷的、他們就加上痛苦。願你在他們的罪罰上加上罪罰；別讓他們不被定罪。願他們從生命冊上被塗抹，不得和義人一同被記錄。

地上的君王、大官、千夫長、富戶、壯士、和一切為奴的、自主的、都藏在洞窟和山上的磐石裏；向山和磐石說：『倒在我們身上吧，把我們藏起來，好躲避坐寶座者的面目和羔羊的義怒哦。』因為他們遭上帝義怒的大日子到了，誰能站得住呢？

外國之民怒號着，就像大水之怒號。但上帝叱責他們，他們就遠遠地逃跑，又被追趕、如同山上的風前糠，又如暴風前的滾轉草。

人正說平安穩妥的時候，就在那時、突來的死滅就臨到他們了——正如產難臨到懷孕的婦人一樣——他們斷不能逃脫。

惡人所怕的必臨到他；義人所願的必蒙賜予。暴風一過，惡人歸於無有；義人卻有永久的根基。

當那些日子，懷孕的和餵奶子的有禍啊！因為必有大災難臨到這地方，必有上帝的義怒臨到這人民。他們必倒斃在刀刃之下，必被擄到萬國去；耶路撒冷必被外國人踐踏，直到外國人的時期滿限。『在日月星辰上必有迹象，在地上列國人必有困苦；因了海和翻浪之響聲，人都在為難失措中；由於懼怕、以及對那即將臨到天下之事的期待慌，人都昏絕了；因為天上的列強萬象必被搖動。

『你們要自己注意，恐怕你們的心受重壓在過度飲食醉酒和日常生活之掛慮中，那日子就如同網羅突然臨到你們了；因為那日子總必臨到住全地上一切的人。
