If we sowed spiritual things in you, is it too much if we reap material things from you?If others share the right over you, do we not more? Nevertheless, we did not use this right, but we endure all things so that we will cause no hindrance to the gospel of Christ.Do you not know that those who perform sacred services eat the food of the temple, and those who attend regularly to the altar have their share from the altar?So also the Lord directed those who proclaim the gospel to get their living from the gospel.But I have used none of these things. And I have not written these things so that it will be done so in my case; for it would be better for me to die than that. No one shall make my boast an empty one!

Therefore, when I have finished this, and have put my seal on this fruit of theirs, I will go on by way of you to Spain.

I have coveted no one’s silver or gold or clothes.You yourselves know that these hands served my own needs and the men who were with me.

One who is gracious to a poor person lends to the Lord, And He will repay him for his good deed.

So I considered it necessary to urge the brothers that they go on ahead to you and arrange in advance your previously promised generous gift, that the same would be ready as a generous gift, and not as one grudgingly given due to greediness.

shepherd the flock of God among you, exercising oversight, not under compulsion but voluntarily, according to the will of God; and not with greed but with eagerness;

“ If only there were one among you who would shut the gates, so that you would not kindle fire on My altar for nothing! I am not pleased with you,” says the Lord of armies,“ nor will I accept an offering from your hand.

not overindulging in wine, not a bully, but gentle, not contentious, free from the love of money.

Again I say, let no one think me foolish; but if you do, receive me even as foolish, so that I also may boast a little.

Woe to me! For I am Like harvests of summer fruit, like gleanings of grapes. There is not a cluster of grapes left to eat, Nor an early fig, which I crave.

For the love of money is a root of all sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.

and in their greed they will exploit you with false words; their judgment from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep.

having been filled with the fruit of righteousness which comes through Jesus Christ, for the glory and praise of God.

Woe to them! For they have gone the way of Cain, and for pay they have given themselves up to the error of Balaam, and perished in the rebellion of Korah.
