耶稣说：“手扶着犁向后看的人不配进上帝的国。”

既然有这么多见证人像云彩一般围绕着我们，我们就要放下一切重担，摆脱容易缠累我们的罪，以坚忍的心奔跑我们前面的赛程，定睛仰望为我们的信心创始成终的耶稣。祂为了摆在前面的喜乐，就轻看羞辱，忍受了十字架的痛苦，如今已坐在上帝宝座的右边。

这并不是说我已经得到了或者纯全了，我还要竭力追求，或者可以达到基督耶稣要我达到的目标。

你们不知道吗？在运动场上赛跑的人虽然个个都在跑，但冠军只有一个。同样，你们也要努力奔跑，好获得奖赏。参加比赛的选手要接受严格的训练，以求赢得桂冠，但这桂冠终必朽坏，我们要赢得的却是永不朽坏的桂冠。因此，我奔跑不是漫无目标，我击拳不是打空气。我严格训练自己，克服自身的软弱，免得我传福音给别人，自己却被淘汰了。

我曾向耶和华求一件事，我还要求，就是能一生住在祂的殿中，瞻仰祂的荣美，寻求祂的旨意。

不但如此，我看万事都毫无价值，因为认识我主基督耶稣最宝贵。我为祂失去了一切，我把失去的一切视为垃圾，好得到基督，

所以我们要离开有关基督的初级道理，努力迈向成熟，而不是再次打基础：教导为致死的行为悔改、信靠上帝、

我并非有缺乏才这样说，因为我已经学会在任何处境中都能知足。我知道如何过贫穷的日子，也知道如何过富足的日子。我学到了秘诀，不论饱足或饥饿，丰裕或缺乏，在任何情况下都可以处之泰然。靠着赐我力量的那位，我凡事都能做。

所以，我亲爱的弟兄姊妹，既然我在你们那里的时候，你们一向都很顺服；如今我不在你们那里，你们更要顺服，要战战兢兢地活出得救后应有的生命。

那又怎样呢？无论他们传福音是真心还是假意，基督的福音毕竟传开了，因此我很欢喜，而且欢喜不已。因为我知道，借着你们的祷告和耶稣基督之灵的帮助，我终会得到释放。我殷切地期待和盼望：我不会感到任何羞愧，而是放胆无惧，不管是生是死，都要一如既往地使基督在我身上得到尊崇。因为对我来说，活着是为了基督，死了也有益处。

其实最要紧的事只有一件，玛丽亚选择了上好的，是夺不走的。”

从今以后，我们不再以貌取人了，虽然我们曾这样看待基督，现在却不再这样看待祂了。

亲爱的弟兄姊妹，有一件事你们不可忽略，就是主看一日如千年，千年如一日。

女子啊，要侧耳倾听：不要再挂念家乡的父老，

但如今福音传遍了这一带，况且我几年来一直盼望去你们那里，所以我想去西班牙的途中路过你们那里，稍作停留，享受与你们的相聚之乐，然后由你们资助我上路。但现在我要去耶路撒冷服侍当地的圣徒，因为马其顿和亚该亚的教会欣然捐出了财物给耶路撒冷的穷困圣徒。这固然是他们慷慨解囊，但也可以说是他们该还的债。外族人既然分享了犹太圣徒属灵的福分，现在以物质报答他们也是应该的。等我办完这件事，将捐款交付他们之后，我就会途经你们那里去西班牙。我知道我去的时候，必会把基督丰盛的祝福带给你们。
