Therefore I am all the more eager to send him, so that when you see him again you may be glad and I may have less anxiety.

And Joseph prepared his chariot and went up to Goshen to meet his father Israel; as soon as he appeared to him, Joseph threw himself on his neck and wept on his neck a long time.Then Israel said to Joseph,“ Now let me die, since I have seen your face, that you are still alive.”

This is the very thing I wrote you, so that when I came, I would not have sorrow from those who ought to make me rejoice; having confidence in you all that my joy was the joy of you all.

When they told him all the words of Joseph that he had spoken to them, and when he saw the wagons that Joseph had sent to carry him, then the spirit of their father Jacob revived.Then Israel said,“ It is enough; my son Joseph is still alive. I will go and see him before I die.”

And Israel said to Joseph,“ I never expected to see your face, and behold, God has let me see your children as well!”

grieving especially over the word which he had spoken, that they would not see his face again. And they were accompanying him to the ship.

because he was longing for you all and was distressed because you had heard that he was sick.For indeed he was sick to the point of death, but God had mercy on him, and not only on him but also on me, so that I would not have sorrow upon sorrow.
