But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth.This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic.For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there.But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.Where do wars and fights come from among you? Do they not come from your desires for pleasure that war in your members?

Let him turn away from evil and do good; Let him seek peace and pursue it.

Then the contention became so sharp that they parted from one another. And so Barnabas took Mark and sailed to Cyprus;

And when there had been much dispute, Peter rose up and said to them:“ Men and brethren, you know that a good while ago God chose among us, that by my mouth the Gentiles should hear the word of the gospel and believe.

Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord:

These are grumblers, complainers, walking according to their own lusts; and they mouth great swelling words, flattering people to gain advantage.

for you are still carnal. For where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal and behaving like mere men?For when one says,“ I am of Paul,” and another,“ I am of Apollos,” are you not carnal?Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers through whom you believed, as the Lord gave to each one?

See that no one renders evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good both for yourselves and for all.

Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.For it has been declared to me concerning you, my brethren, by those of Chloe’s household, that there are contentions among you.Now I say this, that each of you says,“ I am of Paul,” or“ I am of Apollos,” or“ I am of Cephas,” or“ I am of Christ.”

And when they had received it, they complained against the landowner,

For I fear lest, when I come, I shall not find you such as I wish, and that I shall be found by you such as you do not wish; lest there be contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, backbitings, whisperings, conceits, tumults;

By pride comes nothing but strife, But with the well-advised is wisdom.

“ How long shall I bear with this evil congregation who complain against Me? I have heard the complaints which the children of Israel make against Me.

For it might have been sold for more than three hundred denarii and given to the poor.” And they criticized her sharply.

and to esteem them very highly in love for their work’s sake. Be at peace among yourselves.

If anyone teaches otherwise and does not consent to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which accords with godliness,he is proud, knowing nothing, but is obsessed with disputes and arguments over words, from which come envy, strife, reviling, evil suspicions,useless wranglings of men of corrupt minds and destitute of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain. From such withdraw yourself.

Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them.
