If she has made herself impure and been unfaithful to her husband, this will be the result: When she is made to drink the water that brings a curse and causes bitter suffering, it will enter her, her abdomen will swell and her womb will miscarry, and she will become a curse.

Suppose she has made herself“ unclean.” She has not been faithful to her husband. And she has drunk the water that brings a curse. Then it will go into her body. It will cause her to suffer bitterly. It will make her body unable to have children. She will become a curse.

And when he has made her drink the water, then, if she has defiled herself and has broken faith with her husband, the water that brings the curse shall enter into her and cause bitter pain, and her womb shall swell, and her thigh shall fall away, and the woman shall become a curse among her people.

你們必留下自己的名字，作我選民的詛咒詞。主耶和華必殺死你們；至於我的僕人們，我必用另外的名字稱呼他們。

求你對待他們，如同對待米甸，如同在基順溪流對待西西拉和耶賓——他們在恩多爾被除滅，成為那地上的糞土。求你使他們的貴族如同俄立和西伊伯，使他們所有的王子如同西巴和撒慕拿，

要知道，我們領受了真理的知識以後，如果還故意犯罪，就不再有贖罪的祭物被保留下來；只保留了對審判的可怕等待，和那將要吞滅敵對者的嫉恨之火。任何拒絕摩西律法的人，憑兩個或三個見證人的見證，就得不到憐憫而死，何況一個人踐踏了神的兒子，把那使自己成聖的立約之血看做是俗物，又侮辱了恩典的聖靈，你們想想，這個人難道不該受更厲害的懲罰嗎？因為我們認識曾說過「報應在我，我將回報」的那一位，他又說過「主要審判自己的子民。」

那麼，在你們現在看為羞恥的那些事上，你們當時到底得了什麼果子呢？那些事的結局就是死。

對滅亡的人，我們是死亡的香氣以至於死亡；對得救的人，我們是生命的香氣以至於生命。對這些事，到底誰配得上呢？

尤其對那些隨從肉體而在汙穢的欲望中生活、輕視主權者的人，更是這樣。這些人膽大、任性，毫不戰兢地褻瀆那些有榮耀的。

但她的盡頭，卻苦澀如苦艾，銳利如雙刃的刀劍；她的雙腳下到死地，她的腳步踏入陰間；她不度量生命的路途，她的路徑變遷不定，自己卻不知道。孩子們哪，現在你們當聽從我，不要偏離我口中的言語！當使你的道路遠離那女人，不要靠近她家的門口；免得把你的尊榮交給別人，把你的歲月交給殘忍的人；免得別人滿得你的力量，你的勞苦所得就歸入外人的家。當你的皮肉和身體衰竭時，你必在你的盡頭哀嘆，
