“ Six of the towns you give the Levites will be cities of refuge, to which a person who has killed someone may flee. In addition, give them forty-two other towns.

“ Six of the towns you give the Levites will be cities to go to for safety. A person who has killed someone can run to one of them. Also give the Levites 42 other towns.

“ The cities that you give to the Levites shall be the six cities of refuge, where you shall permit the manslayer to flee, and in addition to them you shall give forty-two cities.

“ Six of the towns you give the Levites will be cities of refuge, where a person who has accidentally killed someone can flee for safety. In addition, give them forty two other towns.

“ The cities you give the Levites will include six cities of refuge, which you will provide so that the one who kills someone may flee there; in addition to these, give forty-two other cities.

The cities which you shall give to the Levites shall be the six cities of refuge, which you shall provide for the one who commits manslaughter to flee to; and in addition to them you shall give forty two cities.

“ Now among the cities which you will give to the Levites you shall appoint six cities of refuge, to which a manslayer may flee. And to these you shall add forty-two cities.

And the cities which ye shall give unto the Levites, they shall be the six cities of refuge, which ye shall give for the manslayer to flee unto: and besides them ye shall give forty and two cities.

于是以色列人照耶和华的指示，从自己的地业中，把这些城镇和城镇的郊外给了利未人。

从迦得支派的地业中所得的是基列的拉末，就是误杀人的逃城和城的郊外、玛哈念和城的郊外、

从吕便支派的地业中所得的是比悉和城的郊外、雅杂和城的郊外、

利未人宗族中革顺的子孙，从玛拿西半支派的地业中所得的是巴珊的哥兰，就是误杀人的逃城和城的郊外，以及比‧施提拉和城的郊外，共两座城。

他们把以法莲山区的示剑，就是误杀人的逃城和城的郊外给了哥辖其余的子孙；又给了基色和城的郊外、

从拿弗他利支派的地业中所得的是加利利的基低斯，就是误杀人的逃城和城的郊外、哈末‧多珥和城的郊外，以及加珥坦和城的郊外，共三座城。

耶和华要作受欺压者的庇护所，在患难时的庇护所。

这要作为棚子，白天可以遮荫避暑，暴风雨侵袭时，可作藏身处和避难所。

凡劳苦担重担的人都到我这里来，我要使你们得安息。

我的拯救、我的荣耀都在于上帝；我力量的磐石、我的避难所都在于上帝。百姓啊，要时时倚靠他，在他面前倾心吐意；上帝是我们的避难所。（细拉）

“你们指定的城，是要作你们的六座逃城。约旦河东指定三座，迦南地也指定三座，作为逃城。

“你吩咐以色列人说：‘你们要照我藉摩西所吩咐你们的，为自己设立逃城，使那无意中误杀人的，可以逃到那里。这些要作为你们逃避报血仇者的城。杀人者要逃到这些城中的一座，站在城门口，把他的事情陈诉给那城的长老听。他们就要接他入城，给他地方，让他住在他们中间。若是报血仇者追上了他，长老不可把他交在报血仇者的手里，因为他是无意中杀了邻舍的，并非过去彼此之间有仇恨。他要住在那城里，直到他站在会众面前受审判；等到当时的大祭司死后，杀人者才可以回到本城本家，就是他所逃出来的那城。’”于是，以色列人划分拿弗他利山区加利利的基低斯、以法莲山区的示剑和犹大山区的基列‧亚巴，基列‧亚巴就是希伯仑。他们在约旦河的另一边，就是耶利哥的东边，从吕便支派中，在旷野的平原设立比悉，从迦得支派中设立基列的拉末，从玛拿西支派中设立巴珊的哥兰。这都是为以色列众人和在他们中间寄居的外人所指定的城镇，使凡误杀人者可以逃到那里，不至于死在报血仇者的手中，直到他站在会众面前受审判。

“那时，摩西在约旦河东边，向日出的方向，指定三座城，使那素无仇恨、无意中杀了邻舍的凶手，可以逃到这三座城中的一座，就得存活：属吕便人的是旷野平坦之地的比悉，属迦得人的是基列的拉末，属玛拿西人的是巴珊的哥兰。”

藉这两件不可更改的事—在这些事上，上帝绝不会说谎—我们这些逃往避难所的人能得到强有力的鼓励，去抓住那摆在我们前头的指望。

求你留意向我右边观看，无人认识我；我无避难之处，也无人眷顾我。耶和华啊，我曾向你哀求。我说：“你是我的避难所，在活人之地，你是我的福分。”
