按着宗族，迦得的众子：属洗分的，有洗分族；属哈基的，有哈基族；属书尼的，有书尼族；属阿斯尼的，有阿斯尼族；属以利的，有以利族；属亚律的，有亚律族；属亚列利的，有亚列利族。这就是迦得子孙的各族；他们被数的共有四万零五百名。

与亚伯兰同行的罗得也有牛群、羊群、帐棚。

利亚的婢女悉帕为雅各生了一个儿子。利亚给他起名叫迦得，说：“真是幸运！”

以色列的长子是吕便。吕便的众子：属哈诺的，有哈诺族；属法路的，有法路族；属希斯伦的，有希斯伦族；属迦米的，有迦米族。这就是吕便的各族；被数的共有四万三千七百三十名。

我必领以色列回他自己的草场，他要在迦密和巴珊吃草，又在以法莲山上和基列境内得以饱足。

他们的地界是雅谢和基列的各城，以及亚扪人之地的一半，直到拉巴前面的亚罗珥；

罗得举目，看见约旦河整个平原，直到琐珥，都是水源充足之地。在耶和华未毁灭所多玛、蛾摩拉以前，那地好像耶和华的园子，又像埃及地。于是罗得选择了约旦河整个平原。罗得往东迁移，他们就彼此分开了。

他们又对法老说：“迦南地的饥荒非常严重，仆人的羊群没有牧草，所以我们来到这地寄居。现在求你准许仆人住在歌珊地。”

“在南边，按照他们的队伍是吕便营的旗帜。吕便人的领袖是示丢珥的儿子以利蓿，他的军队被数的有四万六千五百名。在他旁边安营的是西缅支派。西缅人的领袖是苏利沙代的儿子示路蔑，他的军队被数的有五万九千三百名。还有迦得支派，迦得人的领袖是丢珥的儿子以利雅萨，他的军队被数的有四万五千六百五十名。

求你在迦密的树林中，以你的杖牧放你独居的民，你产业中的羊群；愿他们像古时一样，牧放在巴珊和基列。

因为凡世界上的东西，好比肉体的情欲、眼目的情欲和今生的骄傲，都不是从父来的，而是从世界来的。

利亚怀孕生子，给他起名叫吕便，因为她说：“耶和华看见我的苦情，如今我的丈夫必爱我。”

亚伯兰的牲畜和金银极多。

又有许多不同族群的人，以及众多的羊群牛群，和他们一同上去。

他们过约旦河，在迦得谷中、城的右边亚罗珥安营，与雅谢相对。
