“‘ On the day of firstfruits, when you present to the Lord an offering of new grain during the Festival of Weeks, hold a sacred assembly and do no regular work.

“‘ On the day you gather the first share of your crops, present to the Lord an offering of your first grain. Do it during the Feast of Weeks. Come together for a special service. Do not do any regular work.

“ On the day of the firstfruits, when you offer a grain offering of new grain to the Lord at your Feast of Weeks, you shall have a holy convocation. You shall not do any ordinary work,

“ At the Festival of Harvest, when you present the first of your new grain to the Lord, you must call an official day for holy assembly, and you may do no ordinary work on that day.

“ On the day of firstfruits, you are to hold a sacred assembly when you present an offering of new grain to the LORD at your Festival of Weeks; you are not to do any daily work.

‘ Also on the day of the first fruits, when you present a new grain offering to the Lord in your Feast of Weeks, you shall have a holy assembly; you shall do no laborious work.

‘ Also on the day of the firstfruits, when you bring a new grain offering to the Lord at your Feast of Weeks, you shall have a holy convocation. You shall do no customary work.

Also in the day of the first- fruits, when ye offer a new meal- offering unto Jehovah in your feast of weeks, ye shall have a holy convocation; ye shall do no servile work;

要在耕種後、收取初熟之物的時候守收割節。要在年終從田間收取勞動成果時守收藏節。

「在收割初熟麥子的時候，要守七七收割節，年底要守收藏節。

「你把以下條例告訴以色列人。「你們進入耶和華將要賜給你們的那片土地以後，每逢莊稼初熟之時，你們要帶一捆初熟的穀物交給祭司。

「從安息日後第一天，即你們獻上搖祭的那天算起，你們要數整整七週，一直數到第七個安息日後的第一天，共五十天。到那天，你們要把新收的穀物作為素祭獻給耶和華。你們要用兩公斤細麵粉加上酵，烤成兩個餅作搖祭，從你們居住的地方帶來獻給耶和華作初熟之祭。你們要把七隻毫無殘疾、一歲的公羊羔、一頭公牛犢、兩隻公綿羊和那兩個餅一起獻給耶和華作燔祭。這些一起獻上的燔祭、素祭和奠祭是蒙耶和華悅納的馨香火祭。你們也要獻一隻公山羊作贖罪祭，兩隻一歲的公綿羊作平安祭。祭司要把這兩隻公綿羊和初熟之物做的餅作為搖祭在耶和華面前搖一搖。這些是獻給耶和華的聖物，歸祭司所有。你們要在那天召開聖會，不可做日常工作。不論住在哪裡，你們都要世代遵守這永遠不變的律例。

「從收割那天開始算起，你們要算出七週的時間。七週後，要為你們的上帝耶和華守七七收穫節。那時，你們要按照你們的上帝耶和華所賜的福分，甘心樂意地獻上祭物。你們要和兒女、僕婢、同城的利未人、寄居者及孤兒寡婦在你們的上帝耶和華選定的敬拜場所，在祂面前一起歡喜快樂。

第一天要舉行聖會，不可做日常工作。

祂按照自己的旨意，藉著真道重生了我們，使我們在祂所造的萬物之中好像初熟的果實。

然而，基督已經從死裡復活，祂是死人中第一個復活的。

五旬節那天，門徒聚集在一起。忽然，天上發出一陣響聲，好像狂風呼嘯而過，充滿了他們所在的房子，又有火焰般的舌頭顯現出來，分別落在各人的頭上。大家都被聖靈充滿，得到聖靈所賜的才能，說起別的語言來。當時耶路撒冷住著從各國回來的虔誠的猶太人。眾人聽見這陣響聲便趕過來，聽見門徒在說他們各自的語言，都十分納悶，驚詫地說：「看啊！這些說話的不都是加利利人嗎？怎麼會說我們各自的語言呢？我們這裡有帕提亞人、瑪代人、以攔人，以及住在美索不達米亞、猶太、加帕多迦、本都、亞細亞、弗呂迦、旁非利亞、埃及和靠近古利奈的利比亞的人，還有從羅馬來的猶太人和改信猶太教的人、克里特人和阿拉伯人。我們都聽見他們在用我們各自的語言訴說上帝的偉大！」他們都大感驚奇和困惑，彼此議論說：「這到底是怎麼回事？」有些人就譏笑說：「他們不過是被新酒灌醉了！」
