“ Our father died in the wilderness. He was not among Korah’s followers, who banded together against the Lord, but he died for his own sin and left no sons.

但這些人中間沒有一個人是摩西和祭司亞倫、在西乃曠野點閱以色列人所點閱過的。因為永恆主曾經說到他們、說：『他們一定必死在曠野。』所以除了耶孚尼的兒子迦勒、和嫩的兒子約書亞以外、他們中間連一個人也沒有留下來。

看哪，世人都是屬我的：為父的人怎樣屬我，為子的人也怎樣屬我：只有犯罪的人、才必須死。

我永恆主已經說過，我總要這樣對待這一切會集來敵我的壞會眾；他們就一定在這曠野滅盡，在這裏死亡。』

以致罪在死中怎樣掌了王權，恩典也可以藉着救人之義怎樣掌王權，使人藉着我們的主耶穌基督得永生。

以利押的兒子是尼母利、大坍、亞比蘭。大坍、亞比蘭是會眾中被選召的，同可拉一黨的人和永恆主爭鬪的時候、也和摩西、亞倫爭鬪；地敞開了口，把他們和可拉吞下去；當時那一黨的人都死，當時有火燒滅了二百五十個人；他們就做了示眾的標記。

利未的曾孫、哥轄的孫子、以斯哈的兒子可拉傲慢倔強，和如便子孫中以利押的兒子大坍、亞比蘭、與比勒的兒子安、跟以色列人中二百五十個人、就是會眾的首領、會中被選有名望的人、在摩西面前一同起來。他們聚集了來攻擊摩西、亞倫說：『你們過分了；全會眾各人既都是聖別，永恆主又在他們中間，你們為甚麼高抬自己、超過永恆主的大眾呢？』

地敞開了口，就把他們和他們的家眷、跟屬可拉的一切人和財物、都吞下去。於是他們、和一切屬於他們的、都活活地下到陰間；地掩蓋着他們，他們就從大眾中滅亡了。在他們四圍的以色列眾人一聽見他們的號聲，就都逃跑，說：『恐怕地也把我們吞下去呀！』當下又有火從永恆主那裏出來，把那獻香的二百五十個人也燒滅了。

所以我對你們說了，你們必死在你們的罪中。因為你們若不信我永在，你們就必死在你們的罪中。』

除了因可拉的事而死的以外，患疫症而死的、有一萬四千七百人。

因為罪的工價即是死，然而上帝的恩賜乃是永生、於我們的主基督耶穌裏。

於是耶穌又對他們說：『我要去了；你們必尋求我，並且必死在你們的罪中；我所去的地方、你們不能到。』

可拉召集了全會眾到會棚出入處要攻擊摩西、亞倫；永恆主的榮光就向全會眾顯現。

希弗的兒子西羅非哈沒有兒子，只有女兒：西羅非哈的女兒名叫瑪拉、挪阿、曷拉、密迦、得撒。

故此、罪怎樣藉着一個人而入了世界，死又藉着罪而入了世界，死也怎樣因萬人都犯了罪而傳遍到萬人。
