Then the Lord said to Moses,“ Go up this mountain in the Abarim Range and see the land I have given the Israelites.

And Jehovah said unto Moses, Get thee up into this mountain of Abarim, and behold the land which I have given unto the children of Israel.

从亚门‧低比拉太音起行，安营在尼波前面的亚巴琳山脉。从亚巴琳山脉起行，安营在约旦河边，耶利哥对面的摩押平原。

就在那日，耶和华吩咐摩西说：“你上摩押地的亚巴琳山脉，到面对耶利哥的尼波山去，看我所要赐给以色列人为业的迦南地。你必死在你所登的山上，归到你祖先那里，像你哥哥亚伦死在何珥山上，归到他祖先那里一样。因为你们在以色列人中得罪了我，在寻的旷野，加低斯的米利巴水那里，在以色列人中没有尊我为圣。我所赐给以色列人的地，你只可从对面观看，却不得进到那里去。”

摩西从摩押平原登上尼波山，到了耶利哥对面的毗斯迦山顶。耶和华把全地指给他看：从基列到但，拿弗他利全地，以法莲、玛拿西的地，犹大全地直到西边的海，尼革夫，从棕树城耶利哥的平原到琐珥。耶和华对他说：“这就是我向亚伯拉罕、以撒、雅各起誓应许之地，说：‘我必将这地赐给你的后裔。’现在我使你亲眼看见了，你却不得过到那里去。”

“那时，我恳求耶和华说：‘主耶和华啊，你已开始将你的伟大和你大能的手显给你仆人看。在天上，在地下，有什么神明能像你行事，像你有大能的作为呢？求你让我过去，看约旦河另一边的美地，就是那佳美的山区和黎巴嫩。’但耶和华因你们的缘故向我发怒，不应允我。耶和华对我说：‘你够了吧！不要再向我提这事。你上毗斯迦山顶去，向东、西、南、北举目，用你的眼睛观看，因为你必不能过这约旦河。
