Jacob’s people are like the dust of the earth. Can dust be counted? Who can count even a fourth of the Israelites? Let me die as godly people die. Let my death be like theirs!”

你細察純全人，觀看正直人，看寧靜人怎樣有後代。

我要使你的後裔像地上的塵沙那麼多；若有人能數得清地上的塵沙，你的後裔也就能數得清。

在永恆主看，他堅貞之民的死、極為寶貴。

你的後裔必像地上的塵沙那麼多；你必向西向東向北向南突破疆界；地上萬宗族必用你的名和你後裔的名給自己祝福。

我們知道我們這地上的帳篷式房屋若拆毁了，我們就可以從上帝得到建築物，非人手造的、永世的在天上的房屋。

至於我呢、我最後的一滴血已流出為奠祭了，我撤離世間的時候到了。這美好的競鬥、我已經奮力鬥勝過了；這跑程我已經跑盡了；這信約我已經守住了。此後就有正義之華冠為我保留着，就是主、公義的審判者、在那日要賞報我的，不但賞給我，也賞給一切愛慕他顯現的人。

這能朽壞的必須穿上不朽壞；這能死的必須穿上不死。這能死的既穿上了不死，那時經上所記：『死被吞滅在勝利中』的話便應驗了。死啊！你的勝利在哪裏？死啊！你的毒刺在哪裏？死的毒刺就是罪，罪的勢力就是律法。願感謝歸於上帝，他藉着我們的主耶穌基督、常把勝利賜給我們。

義人死亡，沒有人放在心上；堅貞之人被收去，沒有人留意；義人被收去、是脫離了禍患，進入平安；憑其端正而行的人安息在他們的永臥處。

我聽見從天上有聲音說：『你要寫下來：「在主裏面死去的人有福啊！」』聖靈說：『從今以後、他們歇了他們的勞苦而得安息；他們所作的工就永跟着他們。』

因為在我看，活着就是基督，死去也是贏得。但若繼續在肉身活着呢，這能讓我多結工作的果子；那我要怎樣選擇呢、我也不曉得。我被困迫於兩難之間，一方面切願着撤離世間、去和基督同在，那更好得多；

凡屬以法蓮營、按部隊被點閱的、有十萬零八千一百人；他們要做第三隊往前行。

凡屬但營被點閱的、有十五萬七千六百人：他們要歸自己的大旗做末隊往前行。』

我以為儘我還在這帳幕的時候，以提醒來激發你們、是正當的。因為知道我這帳幕脫卸的時候快到了，正如我們主耶穌基督所指示我的。我也要竭力盡心，使你們在我去世以後還時常追念這些事。

凡屬猶大營、按部隊被點閱的、有十八萬六千四百人；他們要做頭一隊往前行。

我就必定大大地賜福與你，必定使你的後裔大大增多，如同天上的星，如同海邊的沙；你的後裔必佔領仇敵的城。

凡屬如便營、按部隊被點閱的、有十五萬一千四百五十人；他們要做第二隊往前行。

『主宰啊，照你應許的話、如今你釋放你奴僕安然而去了；因為我已親眼看到你的拯救，

所以誰都不要拿人來誇口了！一切都是你們的：或保羅、或亞波羅、或磯法、或世界、或活、或死、或現在的、或將來的、全是你們的；

惡人必在他所行的壞事上被推倒；義人必因他的純全而得避難。
