When the donkey saw the angel of the Lord standing in the road with a drawn sword in his hand, it turned off the road into a field. Balaam beat it to get it back on the road.

天空的鸛鳥尚且知道來去的季節，斑鳩、燕子和白鶴也遵守遷徙的時間，但我的子民卻不認識耶和華的法則。

大衛舉目看見耶和華的天使站在天地之間，手握著已出鞘的刀，指向耶路撒冷。大衛和眾長老都身披麻衣，臉伏於地。

但上帝揀選了世人看為愚昧的，要使智者羞愧；上帝揀選了世上軟弱的，要使強者蒙羞；上帝揀選了世上卑賤的、被藐視的和無足輕重的，要使世人看為舉足輕重的變得無足輕重。這樣，誰都不能在上帝面前自誇了。

只有我但以理看見了這異象，跟我在一起的人都沒有看見，但他們極其恐懼，紛紛逃匿，

因自己的罪而受了責備。不能說話的驢竟然像人一樣說起話來，制止了他狂妄的行為。

我的同伴雖然也看見那道強光，卻聽不懂那位說話者的聲音。

他隨後禱告：「耶和華啊，求你開他的眼睛，讓他看見。」於是，耶和華開那個僕人的眼睛，他就看見山上到處都是火車火馬圍繞著以利沙。

他們大禍臨頭了！他們步了該隱的後塵，為謀利而重蹈巴蘭的謬誤，又像可拉一樣因叛逆而滅亡。
