人民和摩西吵鬧，條陳說：『我們的族弟兄曾死在永恆主面前，我們巴不得那時候也死好啦！

百姓向摩西争闹说：“我们的弟兄曾死在耶和华面前，我们恨不得与他们同死。

They quarreled with Moses and said,“ If only we had died when our brothers fell dead before the Lord!

They argued with Moses. They said,“ We wish we had died when our people fell dead in front of the Lord.

And the people quarreled with Moses and said,“ Would that we had perished when our brothers perished before the Lord!

The people blamed Moses and said,“ If only we had died in the Lord’s presence with our brothers!

The people quarreled with Moses and said,“ If only we had perished when our brothers perished before the LORD.

Then the people argued with Moses and spoke, saying,“ If only we had perished when our brothers perished before the Lord!

And the people strove with Moses, and spake, saying, Would that we had died when our brethren died before Jehovah!

人民就和摩西吵鬧，說：『給我們水喝吧。』摩西對他們說：『你們為甚麼和我吵鬧？為甚麼試探永恆主呢？』

摩西講完了這一切話，那些人腳下的土地就裂開；地敞開了口，就把他們和他們的家眷、跟屬可拉的一切人和財物、都吞下去。於是他們、和一切屬於他們的、都活活地下到陰間；地掩蓋着他們，他們就從大眾中滅亡了。在他們四圍的以色列眾人一聽見他們的號聲，就都逃跑，說：『恐怕地也把我們吞下去呀！』當下又有火從永恆主那裏出來，把那獻香的二百五十個人也燒滅了。

當下全會眾就放聲嚷起來；那一夜人民都哭了。以色列眾人向摩西、亞倫發怨言；全會眾對他們說：『巴不得我們早死在埃及地！巴不得我們早死在這曠野！

除了因可拉的事而死的以外，患疫症而死的、有一萬四千七百人。

人民發了怨言、將苦處訴給永恆主聽；永恆主聽了，就發怒；永恆主的火便在他們中間燒着，燒燬了營盤一些邊地。

摩西所打發去窺探那地的人回來、發表關於那地的惡報告、以致全會眾都向摩西發怨言：這些發表那地的惡報告的人、都因患疫症而死在永恆主面前。

肉在他們的牙齒間還沒嚼爛，永恆主就向人民發怒；用極重的疫災擊打他們。那地方便名叫基博羅哈他瓦，因為他們埋葬了起貪慾心的人就是在那裏。

以色列人全會眾在曠野向摩西、亞倫發怨言；以色列人對他們說：『巴不得我們在埃及地早死在永恆主手裏；那時我們坐在肉鍋旁邊，喫餅喫到飽飽地，你們竟將我們領出來、到這曠野，要叫這全體大眾都餓死啊！』

因為它沒有把懷我的胎門閉着，沒有對我的眼隱藏着苦難。我為甚麼不從母胎就死去？為甚麼不出母腹就氣絕呢？

被刀刺死的比被饑荒餓死的還好，因為前者雖被刺傷，還可以喫田間的出產。
