But only you and your sons may serve as priests in connection with everything at the altar and inside the curtain. I am giving you the service of the priesthood as a gift. Anyone else who comes near the sanctuary is to be put to death.”

耶和華對摩西說：「告訴你哥哥亞倫，他不可隨意進入幔子裡面的至聖所，走到約櫃上的施恩座前，免得死亡，因為我要在施恩座之上的雲彩中顯現。

我在以色列各支派中選出你的先祖做我的祭司，在我的祭壇上獻祭燒香，穿著以弗得事奉我。我把以色列人獻的火祭都賜給你先祖家。

約翰回答說：「除非是從天上賞賜下來的，否則人什麼都得不到。

為他們束上腰帶，戴上帽子，他們就按永遠的條例得到祭司的職分。你要這樣把聖職授予他們。

我本來比最卑微的聖徒還卑微，卻蒙上帝賜我這恩典，讓我把基督那測不透的豐富傳給外族人，

然後拿一個香爐，盛滿從耶和華面前的祭壇上取的火炭，再拿兩把磨細的香帶進幔子裡。他要在耶和華面前燒香，使香的煙籠罩約櫃上的施恩座，免得他死亡。他要取一些牛血，用手指彈灑在施恩座的東面，也要在施恩座前用手指彈灑七次。

沒有人能自取這大祭司的尊榮，只有像亞倫一樣蒙上帝呼召的人才可以做大祭司。

耶和華對亞倫說：「你在以色列人將得之地不可有產業，不可有份於他們的財產，因為我是你在以色列人中的所得之份，是你的產業。

他們要協助你，負責看守聖幕，辦理聖幕的一切事務。外人不可靠近。你們要看守聖所和祭壇，以免我的憤怒再臨到以色列人。

在第二道幔子後面的那一間叫至聖所，裡面有純金的香壇和包金的約櫃。約櫃裡珍藏著盛嗎哪的金罐、亞倫那根發過芽的手杖和兩塊刻著十誡的石版，上面有榮耀的基路伯天使，高展翅膀蓋著約櫃上面的施恩座。關於這些事，現在不能一一細說。這些東西都齊備了，祭司們便經常進入聖所，舉行敬拜。

讓以色列人引以為戒，使亞倫子孫以外的人不致到耶和華面前燒香，以免像可拉及其同夥一樣滅亡。這是按照耶和華藉摩西的吩咐做的。

對可拉一夥人說：「到了明天早上，耶和華必顯明誰是屬於祂的，誰是聖潔的。祂必讓祂所揀選的人到祂面前。可拉啊，你們要這樣做，你和你的同夥明天帶香爐來，在耶和華面前點火添香。耶和華揀選誰，誰就是聖潔的。你們利未人太過分了！」

但我仍放膽寫信提醒你們幾件事，因為我蒙上帝賜恩，在外族人中作基督耶穌的僕人和上帝福音的祭司，好叫外族人藉著聖靈得以聖潔，可以作上帝喜悅的祭物。

摩西、亞倫和亞倫的兒子們要在聖幕東面、朝日出的方向安營，為以色列人在聖所司職。凡擅自走近聖所的人，都要被處死。

在遷移的時候，利未人要負責拆卸和支搭聖幕；其他人若走近聖幕，必被處死。
