The next day the whole Israelite community grumbled against Moses and Aaron.“ You have killed the Lord’s people,” they said.

But on the next day all the congregation of the people of Israel grumbled against Moses and against Aaron, saying,“ You have killed the people of the Lord.”

But the very next morning the whole community of Israel began muttering again against Moses and Aaron, saying,“ You have killed the Lord’s people!”

The next day the entire Israelite community complained about Moses and Aaron, saying,“ You have killed the LORD’s people!”

But on the next day all the congregation of the sons of Israel grumbled against Moses and Aaron, saying,“ You are the ones who have caused the death of the Lord’s people!”

On the next day all the congregation of the children of Israel complained against Moses and Aaron, saying,“ You have killed the people of the Lord.”

But on the morrow all the congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron, saying, Ye have killed the people of Jehovah.

And all the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron: and the whole congregation said unto them, Would God that we had died in the land of Egypt! or would God we had died in this wilderness!

And it came to pass, when Ahab saw Elijah, that Ahab said unto him,[ Art] thou he that troubleth Israel?

Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man’s blood upon us.

Therefore he said that he would destroy them, had not Moses his chosen stood before him in the breach, to turn away his wrath, lest he should destroy[ them].

They soon forgat his works; they waited not for his counsel:

By honour and dishonour, by evil report and good report: as deceivers, and[ yet] true;

But murmured in their tents,[ and] hearkened not unto the voice of the LORD.Therefore he lifted up his hand against them, to overthrow them in the wilderness:To overthrow their seed also among the nations, and to scatter them in the lands.They joined themselves also unto Baalpeor, and ate the sacrifices of the dead.Thus they provoked[ him] to anger with their inventions: and the plague brake in upon them.Then stood up Phinehas, and executed judgment: and[ so] the plague was stayed.And that was counted unto him for righteousness unto all generations for evermore.They angered[ him] also at the waters of strife, so that it went ill with Moses for their sakes:Because they provoked his spirit, so that he spake unadvisedly with his lips.They did not destroy the nations, concerning whom the LORD commanded them:But were mingled among the heathen, and learned their works.And they served their idols: which were a snare unto them.Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto devils,And shed innocent blood,[ even] the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan: and the land was polluted with blood.Thus were they defiled with their own works, and went a whoring with their own inventions.Therefore was the wrath of the LORD kindled against his people, insomuch that he abhorred his own inheritance.And he gave them into the hand of the heathen; and they that hated them ruled over them.Their enemies also oppressed them, and they were brought into subjection under their hand.Many times did he deliver them; but they provoked[ him] with their counsel, and were brought low for their iniquity.Nevertheless he regarded their affliction, when he heard their cry:And he remembered for them his covenant, and repented according to the multitude of his mercies.He made them also to be pitied of all those that carried them captives.Save us, O LORD our God, and gather us from among the heathen, to give thanks unto thy holy name,[ and] to triumph in thy praise.Blessed[ be] the LORD God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting: and let all the people say, Amen. Praise ye the LORD.

Then Amaziah the priest of Bethel sent to Jeroboam king of Israel, saying, Amos hath conspired against thee in the midst of the house of Israel: the land is not able to bear all his words.

And when he was in the gate of Benjamin, a captain of the ward[ was] there, whose name[ was] Irijah, the son of Shelemiah, the son of Hananiah; and he took Jeremiah the prophet, saying, Thou fallest away to the Chaldeans.Then said Jeremiah,[ It is] false; I fall not away to the Chaldeans. But he hearkened not to him: so Irijah took Jeremiah, and brought him to the princes.

Blessed are ye, when[ men] shall revile you, and persecute[ you], and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

LORD,[ when] thy hand is lifted up, they will not see:[ but] they shall see, and be ashamed for[ their] envy at the people; yea, the fire of thine enemies shall devour them.

Now Korah, the son of Izhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi, and Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, and On, the son of Peleth, sons of Reuben, took[ men]:And they rose up before Moses, with certain of the children of Israel, two hundred and fifty princes of the assembly, famous in the congregation, men of renown:And they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron, and said unto them,[ Ye take] too much upon you, seeing all the congregation[ are] holy, every one of them, and the LORD[ is] among them: wherefore then lift ye up yourselves above the congregation of the LORD?And when Moses heard[ it], he fell upon his face:And he spake unto Korah and unto all his company, saying, Even to morrow the LORD will shew who[ are] his, and[ who is] holy; and will cause[ him] to come near unto him: even[ him] whom he hath chosen will he cause to come near unto him.This do; Take you censers, Korah, and all his company;And put fire therein, and put incense in them before the LORD tomorrow: and it shall be[ that] the man whom the LORD doth choose, he[ shall be] holy:[ ye take] too much upon you, ye sons of Levi.

Crying out, Men of Israel, help: This is the man, that teacheth all[ men] every where against the people, and the law, and this place: and further brought Greeks also into the temple, and hath polluted this holy place.

And thus said Shimei when he cursed, Come out, come out, thou bloody man, and thou man of Belial:The LORD hath returned upon thee all the blood of the house of Saul, in whose stead thou hast reigned; and the LORD hath delivered the kingdom into the hand of Absalom thy son: and, behold, thou[ art taken] in thy mischief, because thou[ art] a bloody man.

But Baruch the son of Neriah setteth thee on against us, for to deliver us into the hand of the Chaldeans, that they might put us to death, and carry us away captives into Babylon.

Therefore the princes said unto the king, We beseech thee, let this man be put to death: for thus he weakeneth the hands of the men of war that remain in this city, and the hands of all the people, in speaking such words unto them: for this man seeketh not the welfare of this people, but the hurt.
