他們聚集了來攻擊摩西、亞倫說：『你們過分了；全會眾各人既都是聖別，永恆主又在他們中間，你們為甚麼高抬自己、超過永恆主的大眾呢？』

曰、爾逾分矣、會眾盡皆為聖、耶和華亦在其中、爾奚自大、欲超軼於耶和華之會眾乎、

They came as a group to oppose Moses and Aaron and said to them,“ You have gone too far! The whole community is holy, every one of them, and the Lord is with them. Why then do you set yourselves above the Lord’s assembly?”

They came as a group to oppose Moses and Aaron. They said to Moses and Aaron,“ You have gone too far! The whole community is holy. Every one in it is holy. And the Lord is with them. So why do you put yourselves above the Lord’ s people?”

They assembled themselves together against Moses and against Aaron and said to them,“ You have gone too far! For all in the congregation are holy, every one of them, and the Lord is among them. Why then do you exalt yourselves above the assembly of the Lord?”

They united against Moses and Aaron and said,“ You have gone too far! The whole community of Israel has been set apart by the Lord, and he is with all of us. What right do you have to act as though you are greater than the rest of the Lord’s people?”

They came together against Moses and Aaron and told them,“ You have gone too far! Everyone in the entire community is holy, and the LORD is among them. Why then do you exalt yourselves above the LORD’s assembly?”

They assembled together against Moses and Aaron, and said to them,“ You have gone far enough! For all the congregation are holy, every one of them, and the Lord is in their midst; so why do you exalt yourselves above the assembly of the Lord?”

They gathered together against Moses and Aaron, and said to them,“ You take too much upon yourselves, for all the congregation is holy, every one of them, and the Lord is among them. Why then do you exalt yourselves above the assembly of the Lord?”

and they assembled themselves together against Moses and against Aaron, and said unto them, Ye take too much upon you, seeing all the congregation are holy, every one of them, and Jehovah is among them: wherefore then lift ye up yourselves above the assembly of Jehovah?

They came together against Moses and Aaron and told them,“ You have gone too far! Everyone in the entire community is holy, and the Lord is among them. Why then do you exalt yourselves above the Lord’s assembly?”

They assembled themselves together against Moses and against Aaron, and said to them,“ You take too much on yourself, since all the congregation are holy, everyone of them, and Yahweh is among them! Why do you lift yourselves up above Yahweh’s assembly?”

In the camp they grew envious of Moses and of Aaron, who was consecrated to the Lord. (niv)

you will be for me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words you are to speak to the Israelites.” (niv)

And they will tell the inhabitants of this land about it. They have already heard that you, Lord, are with these people and that you, Lord, have been seen face to face, that your cloud stays over them, and that you go before them in a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night. (niv)

and tomorrow put burning coals and incense in them before the Lord. The man the Lord chooses will be the one who is holy. You Levites have gone too far!” (niv)

And do not think you can say to yourselves,‘ We have Abraham as our father.’ I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham.The ax is already at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire. (niv)

“ You stiff- necked people! Your hearts and ears are still uncircumcised. You are just like your ancestors: You always resist the Holy Spirit! (niv)

Then I will dwell among the Israelites and be their God.They will know that I am the Lord their God, who brought them out of Egypt so that I might dwell among them. I am the Lord their God. (niv)

They have taken some of their daughters as wives for themselves and their sons, and have mingled the holy race with the peoples around them. And the leaders and officials have led the way in this unfaithfulness.” (niv)

It is against the Lord that you and all your followers have banded together. Who is Aaron that you should grumble against him?” (niv)

A person is not a Jew who is one only outwardly, nor is circumcision merely outward and physical.No, a person is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is circumcision of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the written code. Such a person’s praise is not from other people, but from God. (niv)

That night all the members of the community raised their voices and wept aloud.All the Israelites grumbled against Moses and Aaron, and the whole assembly said to them,“ If only we had died in Egypt! Or in this wilderness!Why is the Lord bringing us to this land only to let us fall by the sword? Our wives and children will be taken as plunder. Wouldn’t it be better for us to go back to Egypt?”And they said to each other,“ We should choose a leader and go back to Egypt.” (niv)

“ The multitude of your sacrifices— what are they to me?” says the Lord.“ I have more than enough of burnt offerings, of rams and the fat of fattened animals; I have no pleasure in the blood of bulls and lambs and goats.When you come to appear before me, who has asked this of you, this trampling of my courts?Stop bringing meaningless offerings! Your incense is detestable to me. New Moons, Sabbaths and convocations— I cannot bear your worthless assemblies.Your New Moon feasts and your appointed festivals I hate with all my being. They have become a burden to me; I am weary of bearing them.When you spread out your hands in prayer, I hide my eyes from you; even when you offer many prayers, I am not listening. Your hands are full of blood!Wash and make yourselves clean. Take your evil deeds out of my sight; stop doing wrong. (niv)

Do not defile the land where you live and where I dwell, for I, the Lord, dwell among the Israelites.’” (niv)

“ But our ancestors refused to obey him. Instead, they rejected him and in their hearts turned back to Egypt. (niv)

This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: Reform your ways and your actions, and I will let you live in this place.Do not trust in deceptive words and say,“ This is the temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord!”If you really change your ways and your actions and deal with each other justly,if you do not oppress the foreigner, the fatherless or the widow and do not shed innocent blood in this place, and if you do not follow other gods to your own harm,then I will let you live in this place, in the land I gave your ancestors for ever and ever.But look, you are trusting in deceptive words that are worthless.“‘ Will you steal and murder, commit adultery and perjury, burn incense to Baal and follow other gods you have not known,and then come and stand before me in this house, which bears my Name, and say,“ We are safe”— safe to do all these detestable things?Has this house, which bears my Name, become a den of robbers to you? But I have been watching! declares the Lord.“‘ Go now to the place in Shiloh where I first made a dwelling for my Name, and see what I did to it because of the wickedness of my people Israel. (niv)

Miriam and Aaron began to talk against Moses because of his Cushite wife, for he had married a Cushite.“ Has the Lord spoken only through Moses?” they asked.“ Hasn’t he also spoken through us?” And the Lord heard this. (niv)

The chariots of God are tens of thousands and thousands of thousands; the Lord has come from Sinai into his sanctuary. (niv)
