你要叫民众洁净自己，到明天就会有肉吃。因为我听见了他们哭着要肉吃、说埃及的日子更好，我必给他们肉吃。

又要对百姓说：‘你们应当自洁，预备明天吃肉，因为你们哭号说：谁给我们肉吃！我们在埃及很好。这声音达到了耶和华的耳中，所以他必给你们肉吃。

你要对百姓说：‘你们要为了明天使自己分别为圣，你们将有肉吃。因你们哭着说：谁给我们肉吃呢？我们在埃及多么好！这声音传到了耶和华的耳中，所以他必给你们肉吃。

你要對人民說：「你們要潔淨自己為聖，豫備明天可以喫肉，因為你們哭着給永恆主聽，說：我們若有肉喫多好呀！我們在埃及多好呀！故此永恆主必將肉給你們喫。

爾語民曰、自潔為聖、以備明日食肉、蓋耶和華聞爾哭聲云、誰以肉食我、昔在埃及、我儕善矣、故耶和華將賜爾以肉、爾得食之、

告民潔己、明日可食肉、蓋我聞爾哭云、昔在埃及、我儕猶不為苦、今誰予我肉食乎。是故我將賜爾食肉。

亦告民曰、爾當潔己、以待明日、必得肉食、蓋爾號哭云、誰予我肉食、昔我儕在伊及為佳、此言主已聞矣、必賜爾肉食、

“ Tell the people:‘ Consecrate yourselves in preparation for tomorrow, when you will eat meat. The Lord heard you when you wailed,“ If only we had meat to eat! We were better off in Egypt!” Now the Lord will give you meat, and you will eat it.

“ Tell the people,‘ Set yourselves apart for tomorrow. At that time you will eat meat. The Lord heard you when you cried out. You said,“ We wish we had meat to eat. We were better off in Egypt.” Now the Lord will give you meat. And you will eat it.

And say to the people,‘ Consecrate yourselves for tomorrow, and you shall eat meat, for you have wept in the hearing of the Lord, saying,“ Who will give us meat to eat? For it was better for us in Egypt.” Therefore the Lord will give you meat, and you shall eat.

“ And say to the people,‘ Purify yourselves, for tomorrow you will have meat to eat. You were whining, and the Lord heard you when you cried,“ Oh, for some meat! We were better off in Egypt!” Now the Lord will give you meat, and you will have to eat it.

“ Tell the people: Consecrate yourselves in readiness for tomorrow, and you will eat meat because you wept in the LORD’s hearing,‘ Who will feed us meat? We were better off in Egypt.’ The LORD will give you meat and you will eat.

And you shall say to the people,‘ Consecrate yourselves for tomorrow, and you shall eat meat; for you have wept in the ears of the Lord, saying,“ Oh that someone would give us meat to eat! For we were well off in Egypt.” Therefore the Lord will give you meat and you shall eat.

Then you shall say to the people,‘ Consecrate yourselves for tomorrow, and you shall eat meat; for you have wept in the hearing of the Lord, saying,“ Who will give us meat to eat? For it was well with us in Egypt.” Therefore the Lord will give you meat, and you shall eat.

And say thou unto the people, Sanctify yourselves against to- morrow, and ye shall eat flesh; for ye have wept in the ears of Jehovah, saying, Who shall give us flesh to eat? for it was well with us in Egypt: therefore Jehovah will give you flesh, and ye shall eat.

“ Tell the people: Purify yourselves in readiness for tomorrow, and you will eat meat because you cried before the Lord:‘ Who will feed us meat? We really had it good in Egypt.’ The Lord will give you meat and you will eat.

And say thou unto the people, Sanctify yourselves against tomorrow, and ye shall eat flesh: for ye have wept in the ears of the LORD, saying, Who shall give us flesh to eat? for[ it was] well with us in Egypt: therefore the LORD will give you flesh, and ye shall eat.

“ And say to the people,‘ Sanctify yourselves for tomorrow, and you will eat meat, for you have wept in the hearing of the LORD, saying,“ Who will give us meat to eat, for life was good for us in Egypt?” Therefore the LORD will give you meat, and you will eat.

“ Say to the people,‘ Sanctify yourselves in preparation for tomorrow, and you will eat meat; for you have wept in the ears of Yahweh, saying,“ Who will give us meat to eat? For it was well with us in Egypt.” Therefore Yahweh will give you meat, and you will eat.

耶和华对摩西说：“你现在回到他们那里，吩咐他们今天和明天要洁净自己，洗净衣服，

民众因为困难而发怨言，传到耶和华耳中。耶和华听见后便向他们发怒，使火在他们中间燃烧，烧毁了营地的边缘部分。

“可是我们的祖先不听从他，甚至弃绝他，心里对埃及恋恋不舍。

“我们还不如当初在埃及就死在耶和华手中。在那里，我们至少可以围在肉锅旁吃个饱。现在，你把我们带到旷野来，是要叫全体会众饿死在这里吗？”耶和华对摩西说：“我要从天上降下食物给你们。百姓可以每天出去拾取他们当天所需的分量，这样我就可以试验他们是否遵行我的训诲。到第六天，他们要比平时多拾取一倍，好够两天的分量。”摩西和亚伦对以色列百姓说：“今天晚上你们就知道把你们从埃及领出来的是耶和华。明天早上，你们会看见祂的荣耀，因为祂听见了你们向祂所发的怨言。我们算什么，你们何必埋怨我们？

又吩咐他们说：“到后天一切都要准备好，这期间你们不可亲近女人。”

他们埋怨摩西和亚伦说：“我们还不如死在埃及或旷野！耶和华为什么把我们领到这里来，让我们死于刀下？我们的妻儿必被掳去。我们还不如返回埃及。”

他们中间有一群乌合之众贪恋从前的食物，以色列人也哭着说：“要是有肉吃多好啊！还记得在埃及的时候，我们不花钱就可以吃鱼，还有黄瓜、西瓜、韭菜、葱和蒜。我们现在毫无胃口，眼前除了吗哪外，什么都没有。”

于是，雅各吩咐家人和所有的随从：“你们要除掉你们当中的外族神像，沐浴更衣，洁净自己。

起来吧！去吩咐民众洁净自己，让他们为明天洁净自己，因为以色列的上帝耶和华这样说，‘以色列啊！你们中间有本该毁灭的东西，你们不除掉这些东西就无法抵挡敌人。

他们来到伯特利，坐在上帝面前放声痛哭，直到黄昏。
