If this is how you are going to treat me, please go ahead and kill me— if I have found favor in your eyes— and do not let me face my own ruin.”

Is this how you are going to treat me? If you are pleased with me, just put me to death right now. Don’t let me live if I have to see myself destroyed anyway.”

And if thou deal thus with me, kill me, I pray thee, out of hand, if I have found favor in thy sight; and let me not see my wretchedness.

But he himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree. Then he requested for himself that he might die, and said,“ It is enough. Now, O Yahweh, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers.”

Therefore now, Yahweh, take, I beg you, my life from me; for it is better for me to die than to live.”

according to my earnest expectation and hope, that I will in no way be disappointed, but with all boldness, as always, now also Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death.For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.But if I live on in the flesh, this will bring fruit from my work; yet I don’t know what I will choose.But I am hard pressed between the two, having the desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better.Yet to remain in the flesh is more needful for your sake.

Let endurance have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

“ Oh that I might have my request, that God would grant the thing that I long for,even that it would please God to crush me; that he would let loose his hand, and cut me off!Let still be my consolation, yes, let me exult in pain that doesn’t spare, that I have not denied the words of the Holy One.

so that my soul chooses strangling, death rather than my bones.

Yahweh has taken away your judgments. He has thrown out your enemy. The King of Israel, Yahweh, is among you. You will not be afraid of evil any more.
