Moses spoke to Hobab, the son of Reuel. Reuel was Moses’ father- in- law. Reuel was from Midian. Moses said to Hobab,“ We’re starting out for the place the Lord promised to us. He said to us,‘ I will give it to you.’ So come with us. We’ll treat you well. The Lord has promised to give good things to Israel.”

摩西对自己的岳父米甸人流珥的儿子何巴说：“我们要起行到耶和华应许的地方去，他曾说：‘我要把那地赐给你们’，现在求你与我们同去，我们必善待你，因为耶和华对以色列已经应许福乐。”

摩西謂其妻兄妻兄或作外舅米甸人流珥子何巴伯曰、我儕往主所許賜我之地、求爾與我偕往、我儕必厚待爾、因主曾許賜恩於以色列人、

Now Moses said to Hobab son of Reuel the Midianite, Moses’ father-in-law,“ We are setting out for the place about which the Lord said,‘ I will give it to you.’ Come with us and we will treat you well, for the Lord has promised good things to Israel.”

And Moses said to Hobab the son of Reuel the Midianite, Moses’ father-in-law,“ We are setting out for the place of which the Lord said,‘ I will give it to you.’ Come with us, and we will do good to you, for the Lord has promised good to Israel.”

One day Moses said to his brother in law, Hobab son of Reuel the Midianite,“ We are on our way to the place the Lord promised us, for he said,‘ I will give it to you.’ Come with us and we will treat you well, for the Lord has promised wonderful blessings for Israel!”

Moses said to Hobab, descendant of Reuel the Midianite and Moses’s relative by marriage,“ We’re setting out for the place the LORD promised,‘ I will give it to you.’ Come with us, and we will treat you well, for the LORD has promised good things to Israel.”

Then Moses said to Hobab the son of Reuel the Midianite, Moses’ father in law,“ We are setting out to the place of which the Lord said,‘ I will give it to you.’ Come with us and we will do you good, for the Lord has promised good concerning Israel.”

Now Moses said to Hobab the son of Reuel the Midianite, Moses’ father-in-law,“ We are setting out for the place of which the Lord said,‘ I will give it to you.’ Come with us, and we will treat you well; for the Lord has promised good things to Israel.”

And Moses said unto Hobab, the son of Reuel the Midianite, Moses’ father- in- law, We are journeying unto the place of which Jehovah said, I will give it you: come thou with us, and we will do thee good; for Jehovah hath spoken good concerning Israel.

Moses said to Hobab, son of Moses’ father-in-law Reuel the Midianite:“ We’re setting out for the place the Lord promised:‘ I will give it to you.’ Come with us, and we will treat you well, for the Lord has promised good things to Israel.”

And Moses said unto Hobab, the son of Raguel the Midianite, Moses’ father in law, We are journeying unto the place of which the LORD said, I will give it you: come thou with us, and we will do thee good: for the LORD hath spoken good concerning Israel.

Moses said to Hobab son of Reuel, the Midianite, Moses’ father-in-law,“ We are journeying to the place about which the LORD said,‘ I will give it to you.’ Come with us and we will treat you well, for the LORD has promised good things for Israel.”

Moses said to Hobab, the son of Reuel the Midianite, Moses’ father- in- law,“ We are journeying to the place of which Yahweh said,‘ I will give it to you.’ Come with us, and we will treat you well; for Yahweh has spoken good concerning Israel.”

The Lord appeared to Abram at Shechem. He said,“ I will give this land to your family who comes after you.” So Abram built an altar there to honor the Lord, who had appeared to him.

Heber, the Kenite, had left the other Kenites. They came from the family line of Hobab. He was the brother- in- law of Moses. Heber set up his tent by the large tree in Zaanannim near Kedesh.

Moses was taking care of the flock of his father- in- law Jethro. Jethro was the priest of Midian. Moses led the flock to the western side of the desert. He came to Horeb. It was the mountain of God.

The girls returned to their father Reuel. He asked them,“ Why have you returned so early today?”

I will take you to be my own people. I will be your God. I throw off the load the Egyptians have put on your shoulders. Then you will know that I am the Lord your God.I will bring you to the land I promised to give to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. I lifted up my hand and promised it to them. The land will belong to you. I am the Lord.’ ”

So I have come down to save them from the Egyptians. I will bring them up out of that land. I will bring them into a good land. It has a lot of room. It is a land that has plenty of milk and honey. The Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites live there.

But you have said,‘ I will surely give you success. I will make your children as many as the grains of sand on the seashore. People will not be able to count them.’ ”

That belief and understanding lead to the hope of eternal life. Before time began, God promised to give that life. And he does not lie.

The people who live in one city will go to another city. They will say,‘ Let’s go right away to ask the Lord for his blessing. Let’s look to him as our God. We ourselves are going.’Large numbers of people and nations will come to Jerusalem. They will look to me. They will ask me to bless them.”He continued,“ At that time many people of all nations and languages will take hold of one Jew. They will grab hold of the hem of his robe. And they will say,‘ We want to go to Jerusalem with you. We’ve heard that God is with you.’ ”

On that day the Lord made a covenant with Abram. He said,“ I am giving this land to your family who comes after you. It reaches from the River of Egypt to the great Euphrates River.

When God made his promise, he gave his word. He did this so we would have good reason not to give up. Instead, we have run to take hold of the hope set before us. This hope is set before us in God’s promise. So God made his promise and gave his word. These two things can’t change. He couldn’t lie about them.

I will give you all the land you see. I will give it forever to you and your family who comes after you.

Moses sent his father- in- law on his way. So Jethro returned to his own country.

They will ask how to get to Zion. Then they will turn their faces toward it. They will come and join themselves to me. They will enter into the covenant I make with them. It will last forever. It will never be forgotten.

People from many nations will go there. They will say,“ Come. Let us go up to the Lord’ s mountain. Let’s go to the temple of Jacob’s God. He will teach us how we should live. Then we will live the way he wants us to.” The law of the Lord will be taught at Zion. His message will go out from Jerusalem.

Moses’ father- in- law was a Kenite. His family went up from Jericho. Jericho was also known as the City of Palm Trees. His family went up with the people of Judah to the Desert of Judah. They went there to live among its people. Those people were living in the Negev Desert near Arad.

Taste and see that the Lord is good. Blessed is the person who goes to him for safety.

God didn’t give him any property here. He didn’t even give him enough land to set his foot on. But God made a promise to him and to all his family after him. He said they would possess the land. The promise was made even though at that time Abraham had no child.

Then Saul said to the Kenites,“ You were kind to all the Israelites when they came up out of Egypt. Get away from the Amalekites. Then I won’t have to destroy you along with them.” So the Kenites moved away from the Amalekites.

Moses’ father- in- law Jethro was the priest of Midian. He heard about everything God had done for Moses and for his people Israel. Jethro heard how the Lord had brought Israel out of Egypt.

God isn’t a mere human. He can’t lie. He isn’t a human being. He doesn’t change his mind. He speaks, and then he acts. He makes a promise, and then he keeps it.

The Holy Spirit and the bride say,“ Come!” And the person who hears should say,“ Come!” Anyone who is thirsty should come. Anyone who wants to take the free gift of the water of life should do so.
