又要從以色列人的那一半中，就是從人、牛、驢、羊，各樣牲畜中，每五十取一，交給照管耶和華帳幕的利未人。」

他們要替他，又替全會眾，在會幕前執行任務，辦理帳幕的事。他們要看守會幕一切的器具，為以色列人執行任務，辦理帳幕的事。

無論是人或牲畜，摩西都每五十取一，交給照管耶和華帳幕的利未人，是照耶和華所吩咐摩西的。

聖靈立你們作全羣的監督，你們就當為自己謹慎，也為全羣謹慎，牧養神的教會，就是他用自己血所買來的。我知道，在我離開以後必有兇暴的豺狼進入你們中間，不顧惜羊羣。就是你們中間也必有人起來，說悖謬的話，要引誘門徒跟從他們。所以你們要警醒，記念我三年之久，晝夜不斷地流淚勸戒你們各人。

耶和華擊殺伯‧示麥人，因為他們觀看他的約櫃。他擊殺了百姓七十人。百姓因耶和華大大擊殺他們，就哀哭了。

你要派利未人管理法櫃的帳幕和其中一切的器具，以及屬帳幕的一切。他們要抬帳幕和其中一切的器具，並要辦理帳幕的事務，在帳幕的四圍安營。

在帳幕前東邊，向日出的方向，安營的是摩西、亞倫和亞倫的兒子。他們負責看守聖所，是為以色列人看守的。近前來的外人必被處死。

務要傳道；無論得時不得時總要專心，並以百般的忍耐和各樣的教導責備人，警戒人，勸勉人。

要以宣讀聖經，勸勉，教導為念，直等到我來。不要忽略你所得的恩賜，就是從前藉着預言、在眾長老按手的時候賜給你的。這些事你要殷勤去做，並要在這些事上專心，讓眾人看出你的長進來。要謹慎自己和自己的教導，要在這些事上恆心，因為這樣做，既能救自己，又能救聽你的人。

就是先知說假預言，祭司把權柄抓在自己手上，我的百姓也喜愛這樣，到了結局你們要怎麼辦呢？」

你也要帶你弟兄利未人，就是你父系支派的人前來，與你聯合，服事你。你和你的兒子要一起在法櫃的帳幕前；他們要遵守你的吩咐，負責看守整個帳幕，只是不可挨近聖所的器具和祭壇，免得他們和你們都死亡。他們要與你聯合，負責看守會幕和帳幕一切的事；只是外人不可挨近你們。你們要負責看守聖所和祭壇，免得憤怒再臨到以色列人。

「這是有關利未人的：二十五歲以上的人都要前來任職，在會幕裏事奉。到了五十歲，他們就要從事奉的工作中退休，不再事奉，只可在會幕裏輔助他們的弟兄盡責，他們自己不再事奉了。關於利未人的職責，你要向他們這樣做。」

因此，萬軍之耶和華論到先知如此說：「看哪，我必使他們吃茵蔯，喝苦水；因為褻瀆的事出於耶路撒冷的先知，遍及各地。」

至於我們，耶和華是我們的神，我們並沒有離棄他。我們有事奉耶和華的祭司，都是亞倫的後裔，並有利未人各盡其職。
