For many years you were patient with them. By your Spirit you warned them through your prophets. Yet they paid no attention, so you gave them into the hands of the neighboring peoples.

For many years you put up with them. By your Spirit you warned them through your prophets. In spite of that, they didn’t pay any attention. So you handed them over to the nations that were around them.

Many years you bore with them and warned them by your Spirit through your prophets. Yet they would not give ear. Therefore you gave them into the hand of the peoples of the lands.

In your love, you were patient with them for many years. You sent your Spirit, who warned them through the prophets. But still they wouldn’t listen! So once again you allowed the peoples of the land to conquer them.

「你們這硬着頸項，心與耳未受割禮的人哪，時常抗拒聖靈！你們的祖宗怎樣，你們也怎樣。

誰將雅各交出作為擄物，將以色列交給搶奪者呢？豈不是耶和華－我們所得罪的那位嗎？他們不肯遵行他的道，也不聽從他的訓誨。

查考在他們心裏的基督的靈預先證明基督受苦難，後來得榮耀，是指甚麼時候，甚麼樣的情況。

因為預言從來沒有出於人意的，而是人被聖靈感動說出上帝的話來。

還是你藐視他豐富的恩慈、寬容、忍耐，不知道他的恩慈是領你悔改嗎？

現在我告訴你們，我要向我的葡萄園怎麼做。我必撤去籬笆，使它被燒燬；拆毀圍牆，使它被踐踏。我必使它荒廢，不再修剪，不再鋤草，任荊棘蒺藜生長；我也必吩咐密雲，不再降雨在其上。

萬軍之耶和華說：我曾呼喚他們，他們不聽；將來他們呼求我，我也不聽！

耶和華成就了他所定的，應驗了他古時所命定的。他傾覆，並不顧惜，他使仇敵向你誇耀，使你敵人的角高舉。

他們竟然悖逆，使他的聖靈憂傷。他就轉變，成為他們的仇敵，親自攻擊他們。

你警戒他們，要使他們歸順你的律法。他們卻行事狂傲，不聽從你的誡命，干犯你的典章，人若遵行就必因此存活。他們頑梗地扭轉肩頭，硬着頸項，不肯聽從。

「『然而，他們不順從，竟背叛你，將你的律法丟在背後，又殺害那些勸他們回轉歸向你的眾先知，犯了褻瀆的大罪。

耶和華藉眾先知、先見勸戒以色列和猶大說：「當離開你們的惡行，謹守我的誡命律例，遵行我吩咐你們祖先、藉我僕人眾先知所傳給你們的一切律法。」他們卻不聽從，竟硬着頸項，像他們祖先一樣，不信服耶和華－他們的上帝。他們厭棄他的律例，和他與他們列祖所立的約，以及他勸戒他們的話，去隨從虛無的神明，自己成為虛妄，效法周圍的列國，就是耶和華囑咐他們不可效法的。他們離棄耶和華－他們上帝的一切誡命，為自己鑄造了兩個牛犢的像，立了亞舍拉，敬拜天上的萬象，事奉巴力，使他們的兒女經火，占卜，行法術，出賣自己，行耶和華眼中看為惡的事，惹他發怒。所以耶和華向以色列大大發怒，從自己面前趕出他們，只剩下猶大一個支派。

耶和華－他們列祖的上帝因為愛惜自己的百姓和居所，一再差遣使者去警戒他們。他們卻嘲笑上帝的使者，藐視他的話，譏誚他的先知，以致耶和華向他的百姓大發烈怒，甚至無法可救。

自從你們祖先出埃及地的那日，直到今日，我每日一再差遣我的僕人眾先知到你們那裏去。

護衛長提耶利米來，對他說：「耶和華－你的上帝曾說要降這災禍給此地。耶和華照他所說的做了，已使這災禍臨到；因你們得罪耶和華，不聽從他的話，所以這事臨到你們。

主啊，你是有憐憫，有恩惠的上帝，不輕易發怒，並有豐盛的慈愛和信實。

他們間彼此不合，就分散了；未散以先，保羅說了一句話：「聖靈藉以賽亞先知向你們祖宗所說的話是對的。

耶和華也曾一再差遣他的僕人眾先知到你們這裏來，只是你們不聽從，也不側耳而聽，

耶和華因你們所行的惡、所做可憎的事，不能再容忍，所以使你們的地荒涼，受驚駭詛咒，無人居住，正如今日一樣。

他在曠野容忍他們，約有四十年。

你賜下你良善的靈教導他們，沒有收回嗎哪不給他們吃，仍賜水給他們解渴。

主沒有遲延他的應許，就如有人以為他是遲延，其實他是寬容你們，不願一人沉淪，而是人人都來悔改。
