In their hunger you gave them bread from heaven and in their thirst you brought them water from the rock; you told them to go in and take possession of the land you had sworn with uplifted hand to give them.

When the people were hungry, you gave them bread from heaven. When they were thirsty, you brought them water out of a rock. You told them to go into the land of Canaan. You told them to take it as their own. It was the land you had promised to give them.

皆食靈食、皆飲靈飲、所飲者乃自隨之之靈磐所出、此磐即基督、

昔主誓於爾祖亞伯拉罕以撒雅各、以斯地賜彼及其後裔、今我陳於爾前、今我陳於爾前或作今我將斯地付爾可入而得之為業、○

主諭摩西曰、我將為爾曹自天雨糧、使民出、一日斂一日所需、以試其能遵行我律否、

所降之露、既升後、在野地之上、有細微之圓物似霜、以色列人見之不知為何物、相問曰、此何物也、摩西謂之曰、是乃主賜爾食之糧、

民一祈求、主即使鵪鶉飛來、將天上之糧、賜之得飽、擊裂磐石、有水湧出、在沙漠地、水流成河、

我亦在曠野為之發誓、必不導之入我所賜之之地、即流乳與蜜之地、其地在列國中最佳美、

主使磐石變為水池、使堅石變為泉源、

我祖在野食瑪拿、如經載云、主以由天之糧予之食、耶穌曰、我誠告爾、摩西未嘗以由天之糧予爾、惟我父以由天之糧予爾、天主之糧、乃由天降、以生命賜世者也、眾曰、求主常以斯糧賜我、耶穌曰、我即生命之糧、就我者必不饑、信我者永不渴、

使爾卑微、使爾饑餓、以爾與爾祖所未識之瑪拿賜爾食、使爾知人不獨恃餅得生、亦恃凡由主口所出之言得生、

使爾經歷曠野、廣大可畏、有毒火蛇與蠍、乾旱無水之地、又為爾使水出自堅磐、又在曠野、以爾祖不識之瑪拿飼爾、使爾自卑、以試驗爾、使爾終必享福、

主又賜聖善之神以訓之、仍賜瑪拿、不絕於其口、賜之水飲、以止其渴、

降下瑪拿、賜之得食、賜以天上之糧、世人得食天使之食物、天主賜糧、使之飽飫、

主諭摩西曰、爾執杖、與爾兄亞倫集會眾、當其前命磐出水、如此、爾可使水出於磐、以飲會眾與其群畜、摩西自主前取杖、遵主所命、摩西亞倫集會眾於磐前、謂之曰、爾悖逆之輩、且聽我言、我儕能使水出此磐以飲爾乎、摩西舉手、以杖擊磐二次、水即汨汨然湧出、會眾與其群畜皆飲、主諭摩西亞倫曰、緣爾不信我、不於以色列人目前尊我為聖、故爾不得帥此會眾入我所賜彼之地、緣此時以色列人向主爭競、主在其前顯己為聖、故稱此水為米利巴、米利巴譯即爭競之義○

視哉、主爾之天主賜爾之地、俱於爾前、當循主爾祖之天主所諭爾之命、前往得之為業、毋驚懼、毋膽怯、

必不得入我所誓賜爾以居之地、惟耶孚尼子迦勒、與嫩之子約書亞、可得而入、

我僕摩西死矣、今爾起、導斯眾民、過此約但、至我所賜以色列人之地、凡爾足所履之地、我悉賜爾、如我昔諭摩西之言、自曠野及此利巴嫩、至伯拉大河赫族之全地、至大海日入之所、悉為爾境、

主以臂力救贖子民、即雅各與約瑟之後裔、細拉、天主歟、大水見主、悉皆驚惶、深淵見主、亦皆震動、濃雲傾雨、天有雷聲、電光如箭、閃爍飛馳、主之雷聲、發於旋風之中、電光照地、大地震動撼搖、主之道在滄海間、主之路在深水中、主之蹤跡無從尋覓、主託摩西亞倫引導主之民、如引導群羊、

亞伯蘭謂所多瑪王曰、我指天地之主宰、至高天主耶和華而誓、
