Therefore I love thy commandments Above gold, yea, above fine gold.Therefore I esteem all thy precepts concerning all things to be right; And I hate every false way.

These words Jehovah spake unto all your assembly in the mount out of the midst of the fire, of the cloud, and of the thick darkness, with a great voice: and he added no more. And he wrote them upon two tables of stone, and gave them unto me.And it came to pass, when ye heard the voice out of the midst of the darkness, while the mountain was burning with fire, that ye came near unto me, even all the heads of your tribes, and your elders;and ye said, Behold, Jehovah our God hath showed us his glory and his greatness, and we have heard his voice out of the midst of the fire: we have seen this day that God doth speak with man, and he liveth.Now therefore why should we die? for this great fire will consume us: if we hear the voice of Jehovah our God any more, then we shall die.For who is there of all flesh, that hath heard the voice of the living God speaking out of the midst of the fire, as we have, and lived?

The sum of thy word is truth; And every one of thy righteous ordinances endureth for ever.

the day that thou stoodest before Jehovah thy God in Horeb, when Jehovah said unto me, Assemble me the people, and I will make them hear my words, that they may learn to fear me all the days that they live upon the earth, and that they may teach their children.And ye came near and stood under the mountain; and the mountain burned with fire unto the heart of heaven, with darkness, cloud, and thick darkness.And Jehovah spake unto you out of the midst of the fire: ye heard the voice of words, but ye saw no form; only ye heard a voice.And he declared unto you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, even the ten commandments; and he wrote them upon two tables of stone.

But if what I would not, that I do, I consent unto the law that it is good.

The law of Jehovah is perfect, restoring the soul: The testimony of Jehovah is sure, making wise the simple.The precepts of Jehovah are right, rejoicing the heart: The commandment of Jehovah is pure, enlightening the eyes.The fear of Jehovah is clean, enduring for ever: The ordinances of Jehovah are true, and righteous altogether.More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold; Sweeter also than honey and the droppings of the honeycomb.Moreover by them is thy servant warned: In keeping them there is great reward.

And now, Israel, what doth Jehovah thy God require of thee, but to fear Jehovah thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve Jehovah thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul,to keep the commandments of Jehovah, and his statutes, which I command thee this day for thy good?

For ye are not come unto a mount that might be touched, and that burned with fire, and unto blackness, and darkness, and tempest,and the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words; which voice they that heard entreated that no word more should be spoken unto them;for they could not endure that which was enjoined, If even a beast touch the mountain, it shall be stoned;and so fearful was the appearance, that Moses said, I exceedingly fear and quake:but ye are come unto mount Zion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to innumerable hosts of angels,to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,and to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaketh better than that of Abel.See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not when they refused him that warned them on earth, much more shall not we escape who turn away from him that warneth from heaven:whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more will I make to tremble not the earth only, but also the heaven.

And it came to pass on the third day, when it was morning, that there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud upon the mount, and the voice of a trumpet exceeding loud; and all the people that were in the camp trembled.And Moses brought forth the people out of the camp to meet God; and they stood at the nether part of the mount.And mount Sinai, the whole of it, smoked, because Jehovah descended upon it in fire; and the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount quaked greatly.And when the voice of the trumpet waxed louder and louder, Moses spake, and God answered him by a voice.And Jehovah came down upon mount Sinai, to the top of the mount: and Jehovah called Moses to the top of the mount; and Moses went up.

Did ever a people hear the voice of God speaking out of the midst of the fire, as thou hast heard, and live?

When thou didst terrible things which we looked not for, thou camest down, the mountains quaked at thy presence.

And I gave them my statutes, and showed them mine ordinances, which if a man do, he shall live in them.Moreover also I gave them my sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am Jehovah that sanctifieth them.But the house of Israel rebelled against me in the wilderness: they walked not in my statutes, and they rejected mine ordinances, which if a man keep, he shall live in them; and my sabbaths they greatly profaned. Then I said I would pour out my wrath upon them in the wilderness, to consume them.

And Jehovah said unto Moses, Thus thou shalt say unto the children of Israel, Ye yourselves have seen that I have talked with you from heaven.

God came from Teman, And the Holy One from mount Paran.[ Selah. His glory covered the heavens, And the earth was full of his praise.

And what great nation is there, that hath statutes and ordinances so righteous as all this law, which I set before you this day?

Jehovah spake with you face to face in the mount out of the midst of the fire

Righteous art thou, O Jehovah, And upright are thy judgments.

And he said, Jehovah came from Sinai, And rose from Seir unto them; He shined forth from mount Paran, And he came from the ten thousands of holy ones: At his right hand was a fiery law for them.

Oh that thou wouldest rend the heavens, that thou wouldest come down, that the mountains might quake at thy presence,

So that the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and righteous, and good.Did then that which is good become death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might be shown to be sin, by working death to me through that which is good;— that through the commandment sin might become exceeding sinful.For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.
