『你要告訴以色列人說；七月初一日、你們要完全歇息，要大吹號筒做記念日，要有聖聚會。

摩西把這律法寫下來，交給抬永恆主約櫃的祭司、利未子孫、和以色列眾長老。摩西吩咐他們說：『每七年底末一年，在豁免年底制定節期、住棚節時候，以色列眾人來到永恆主你的上帝所選擇的地方朝見他，那時你要當着以色列眾人面前將這律法誦讀給他們聽。你要召集人民、男女幼小、和你城內的寄居者，叫他們聽，叫他們學習敬畏永恆主你們的上帝，謹慎遵行「這律法」的一切話，也叫他們那些未曾明曉這律法的兒女得以聽，儘你們在過約但河去取得為業的土地上活着的日子、得以學習敬畏永恆主你們的上帝。』

因為論到摩西嘛、從古代以來，在各城裏自有宣傳他的人，每安息日在會堂裏、他的書都被宣讀着。』

『將來他登了國位，就要從祭司利未人面前的原本、為自己用一卷錄寫這律法的抄本。

因為祭司嘴裏應當保存着知識，人也應該從他口中尋求禮節規矩，因為他是萬軍之永恆主的使者。

『他要將知識指教誰呢？要叫誰明白所傳給人聽的呢？是剛斷奶的、剛離母懷的麼？

他作王第三年就差遣大臣、有才德的人：俄巴底、撒迦利雅、拿坦業、米該亞、在猶大各城去教訓人。同他們去的有利未人示瑪雅、尼探雅、西巴第雅、亞撒黑、示米拉末、約拿單、亞多尼雅、多比雅、駝巴多尼雅這些利未人；又有祭司以利沙瑪、約蘭、和他們一同去。他們在猶大教訓人，也隨身帶着永恆主的律法書：他們環遊到猶大各城，在民間教訓人。
