Then I consulted with myself, and contended with the nobles and the rulers, and said to them,“ You exact usury, everyone of his brother.” I held a great assembly against them.

「倘若有貧苦的同胞向你借錢，你不可像放債的一樣從中取利。

你們不可從中謀利，要敬畏上帝，讓他住在你們當中。

「你們借給同胞錢、糧食或其他任何東西，都不可收取利息。你們可以向外族人收取利息，但不可向同胞收取。這樣，在你們將要佔領的土地上，你們的上帝耶和華必使你們凡事蒙福。

不可徇私枉法，不可偏袒窮人，不可諂媚權貴之人，要秉公審判。

你們要這樣做，所有債主都要免除同胞所欠的債務，不可向他們追討，因為宣佈免除債務的是耶和華。你們可以向外族人討債，但無論同胞欠你什麼債務，都要免除。

對他們說：「你們辦事必須謹慎，因為你們不是為人而是為耶和華斷案，你們斷案的時候，耶和華必與你們同在。現在你們應當敬畏耶和華，謹慎辦事，因為我們的上帝耶和華毫無不義，不偏待人，不受賄賂。」

他不放債取利，也不受賄去坑害無辜。這樣的人必永遠堅立不搖。

「如果你們借貸給同胞，不可走進他家裡索取抵押物；要站在外面，等他把抵押物拿出來。如果他是窮人，用自己的外袍作抵押，你們不可把他的外袍留到第二天，要在當天日落之前還給他，好讓他蓋著外袍睡覺。他會因此祝福你們，你們的上帝耶和華也會將此視為你們的義行。

在你這城中，他們受賄殺人，放債取利，壓榨鄰居，早把我忘了。這是主耶和華說的。

你說：「來尋求我！」我心中回應：「耶和華啊，我要尋求你。」

不要因生氣而犯罪；躺在床上的時候要默然思想。（細拉）

開誠佈公的責備勝過隱藏的愛。

你要講明這些事，運用各樣權柄勸勉人、責備人，別讓人輕看你。

那些一直犯罪的人，你要當眾責備他們，以警戒眾人。

撒瑪利亞有一位耶和華的先知名叫俄德，他出城去迎接班師回來的軍隊，說：「看啊，你們祖先的上帝耶和華向猶大發怒，才將他們交在你們手中。你們竟怒氣衝天，對他們大加殺戮。現在你們竟還想讓猶大和耶路撒冷的男女做你們的僕俾。你們豈不也得罪你們的上帝耶和華嗎？你們還是聽我的忠告，釋放你們擄來的同胞，讓他們回去吧！因為耶和華的烈怒已經臨到你們了。」約哈難的兒子亞撒利雅、米實利末的兒子比利迦、沙龍的兒子耶希西迦和哈得萊的兒子亞瑪撒四位以法蓮族長起來阻擋從戰場回來的軍隊，說：「你們不可把這些俘虜帶進來，我們的罪已經夠重了，耶和華的烈怒已經臨到以色列人，不要再得罪耶和華，加重我們的罪惡了。」

上帝站在天庭的會中，向眾神明宣佈祂的判決，說：「你們不秉公行義，偏袒惡人要到何時呢？（細拉）你們要為窮人和孤兒主持公道，為貧寒和受壓迫的人伸張正義。要救助窮苦的人，使他們脫離惡人的欺壓。

後來，彼得到了安提阿，因他做錯了事，我就當面責備他。

從今以後，我們不再以貌取人了，雖然我們曾這樣看待基督，現在卻不再這樣看待祂了。

耶和華啊，誰能住在你的聖所？誰能安居在你的聖山？

如果他仍然不聽，就應當告訴教會。如果他連教會也不聽，就把他看作異教徒或稅吏。

「『主耶和華說，你們這些以色列的君王啊，夠了！你們應當放棄暴行和搶掠，按公平和正義行事，不要再向我的子民橫徵暴斂了！這是主耶和華說的。
