耶和華破壞列國的謀略，使萬民的計劃挫敗。耶和華的謀略永遠立定，他心中的計劃萬代長存。

又挫敗狡猾人的計謀，使他們的手所作的無法成全；他使有智慧的人中了自己的詭計，使奸詐人的謀算快快失敗。

因為這世界的智慧，在神看來是愚笨的，如經上所記：“他使有智慧的人中了自己的詭計。”又說：“主知道智慧人的意念是虛妄的。”

任何智慧、聰明、謀略都不能敵擋耶和華。

有人告訴大衛說：“亞希多弗也在押沙龍的叛黨之中。”大衛禱告說：“耶和華啊，求你使亞希多弗的計謀變為愚拙。”

這就像一個人出外遠行，把責任（“責任”原文作“權柄”）一一地交給他的僕人，又吩咐看門的要警醒。

你們儘管計劃陰謀吧，這些終必失敗；你們儘管提議吧，這些終必不能成立，因為神與我們同在。

除非主命定，誰能說成，就成了呢？或禍或福，不都是出於至高者的口嗎？

又要立志過安靜的生活，辦自己的事，親手作工，正如我們從前吩咐過你們，
